You have good chance of getting admission in DTU as the cutoff for DTU is around 300 till last list.
Although cutoff varies with time, but still there's fair chance of you getting admission.

The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a joint entrance exam for post-graduate studies in the field of technological design held annually jointly at all IITs and Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
Uceed and Aieed both are exams that are required for admission.
Whereas NID and IICD both are Institute and comparing these two NID is better. And for exam you have to check the institute.

According to your question if you would update your application and changed your category to EWS and if you are not able to produce that certificate then you won't be alloted through that category.
This doesn't mean that your application or your admission would be cancelled ,its just that you would be alloted a seat through general category.
But for safety, you should contact the officials regarding this fact.

As we know that UCEED 2021 is going to be conducted by IIT Bombay on January 17th 2021 and it consists of two parts, Part-A and Part-B and in Part-A there is no need of any drawing tools but in Part-B which is the drawing section also there is no need of any drawing tool, you have to show your drawing skill by only using your pencil and in the Exam Day Guidelines issued by IIT Bombay it is clearly mentioned that " Candidate will NOT be allowed to carry any electronic device (mobile phones, smart phones, digital/smart watches, calculators, tablets etc.), abacus, slide rule, log books, study material of any type, geometry box, etc. to the examination hall. A list of forbidden items will be put up on the website before the exam if there are additional items ." Also the blank sheets will be provided there. You have to carry the printed copy of your Admit card only and Pen/Pencil whichever is required.

UCEED is a centre-based exam for admissions to the Bachelor of Design admissions. Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2021 will be conducted by IIT Bombay on January 17.
UCEED is a national level exam and is conducted once in a year. Duration of UCEED 2021 is three hours and the medium of the exam is English. Candidates who will qualify UCEED 2021 can apply to 179 seats in IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati , IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur campuses.
The eligibility criteria for appearing for UCEED 2021 exam are:
1. To be eligible for appearing UCEED 2021, candidates must be born on or before October 1, 1996, if they belong to open or OBC-NCL category, and if they belong to SC, ST, PWD category, then they must be born on or after October 1, 1991.
2. The maximum number of attempt will be two times in consecutive years.
3. Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination, that is class 12th or equivalent in 2020 or appearing in 2021. Students who have passed in 2019, or earlier are not eligible to apply. Further, students from all streams all eligible to apply for the exam.
The eligibility criteria for applying for B.Des after UCEED 2021 exam is as follows:
1. To be eligible for applying for B. Des programme, candidates must be born on or before October 1, 1996, if they belong to open or OBC-NCL category and if they belong to SC, ST, PWD category, then they must be born on or after October 1, 1991.
2. Candidates must have obtained the qualified rank in the UCEED 2021 exam.
3. Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination, that is class 12th or equivalent in 2020 or appearing in 2021. Further, students from all streams all eligible to apply for the exam.
4. Candidates from science stream with physics, chemistry and maths, as subjects are eligible to apply for admissions to IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur. Candidates from any other stream, that is science without physics, chemistry or maths, commerce, arts, humanities, are eligible to apply to only IIT Bombay, and IIITDM Jabalpur.

They are almost same.NIFT syllabus contains syllabus like Quantitive Ability,Communication ability and english Comprehension.Uceed syllabus contains Visualization,Observation,Analytical logical reasoning,Language and creativity,Design and thinking,The extra part which it contains is the drawing.Hope it helps!!

You are close to the top 85% of the people who took the test. However you can say that it is a moderate rank.
But yes, this rank will not get you into IIT-B, IIT-G, IIITDM, etc but there may be various other colleges that you could apply with this rank and have a great shot at them too!
