CEED 2020 - Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will conduct CEED in computer based mode on January 18, 2020. CEED 2020 application form has been released in online mode on October 9 at 5:00 p.m and the deadline to fill the same with regular fee is November 9. Candidates can fill the application by paying the late fee from November 10 to November 16. The entrance exam will offer admission to the qualifying students in Masters of Design (M.Des) programme offered by IIT Kanpur, IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Delhi and IISc Bangalore. The authorities will release CEED 2020 admit card in online mode on January 1. The end date for getting the discrepancies rectified in CEED admit card is January 7. The authorities will release the draft answer key for part A on January 21 and the end date to challenge it is January 27, 2020. The final answer key for CEED 2020 will be released on February 4. Candidates can check CEED 2020 result on March 4. Every year, nearly 6,500 aspirants appear for CEED exam, out of which around 1,000 candidates get through it. Qualifying in CEED, however, does not guarantee admission to any of the aforementioned programme. Candidates must note that the respective institute conducts test or interview for the final selection of candidates. CEED 2020 will be conducted in two parts- Part A and Part B. Only those who qualify Part A will be eligible to appear for part B. Only the score of Part B of CEED 2020 will be taken into account while preparing the merit list. CEED 2020 score will be valid for one year from the day of release of the result.

What is new in CEED 2020?

Change in the exam pattern : The conducting body has changed the exam pattern of UCEED 2020. According to CEED 2020 exam pattern, there will be less number of questions in Part A and part B. Also, there is a change in the marking scheme as to section A. The section A consists of three parts - Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Question (MSQ) and Multiple Choice Question (MCQ). In 2019, NAT had 10 questions whereas the same section contains 8 questions in 2020. Candidates had answered 25 questions in MCQ in 2019 whereas they will have to take 23 questions in 2020. Accordingly, the total number of questions asked in section A in 2019 was 45 whereas the questions have been decreased to 41 this year. Further, the authorities have also changed the marking scheme of MSQ section as compared to the last year. Candidates were awarded two marks for correct response while they will be given three marks for answering correctly in 2020. In the marking scheme, there was no negative marking in MSQ but -0.2 marks will be deducted this year. MCQ had a negative marking of -0.6 whereas -0.5 will be deducted for answering incorrectly in 2020.

In 2019, part B had Part B carried 8 questions, wherein candidates were asked to any one of the questions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 while it was mandatory for candidates to answer questions 6, 7 and 8. In 2020, part B will contain 5 questions and all mandatory to answer.

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2020

The CEED 2020 eligibility criteria comprises the academic parameters that candidates must meet before they start filling the application form. Some of the important CEED eligibility criteria 2020 are listed below:

  • Candidates must have passed a degree/diploma/postgraduate degree programme of 4 years or 3+2 years

  • Candidates appearing in the final exam of such programmes by July 2020 or those who have passed GD Arts diploma programme by July 2019 will also be considered eligible.

Note- A candidate can appear in CEED any number of times. Also, there is no age limit for same.

CEED Application Form 2020

CEED application form 2020 has been released in online mode on October 9, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. The end date to fill application form of CEED 2020 is November 9. Candidates can fill the application form by paying late fee from November 10 to 16, 2019. They have to fill their personal, academic details in the application form and pay the application fee. The following steps need to be followed while filling the CEED application form 2020:

CEED Exam Centres 2020

The exam centres of CEED 2020 are the cities where the entrance exam will be conducted for the postgraduate level entrance exam for design programme. Candidates will have to choose CEED exam centre 2020 while filling the application form. Choice of CEED 2020 exam centre must be done judiciously as no change will be made once the candidate has filled the application form.

While choosing the CEED 2020 exam centres, candidates can select at least 3 cities according to their preference. If adequate number of candidates are not available for the exam at a particular test centre, then in such a case, candidates will be allotted the next exam centre. IIT Bombay reserves the right to either add or remove CEED exam centres 2020. While filling the CEED application form, candidates can choose from the following cities:

CEED Exam Pattern 2020

Candidates must have a clear idea of CEED exam pattern to obtain good rank in the entrance exam. CEED 2020 exam pattern contains all the essential information, such as exam duration, total number of questions, types of questions marking scheme, and more. The exam pattern of CEED is mentioned below in detail:

  • Duration of CEED exam - 3 hours

  • Total parts - Part A and B

Part A: This section consists of multiple choice questions, multiple select questions and numerical answer questions.

CEED Admit Card 2020

The admit card of CEED 2020 will be available for downloading from January 1 to January 18. CEED admit card 2020 will be available to only those candidates who will submit the application form successfully. Candidates can get the changes made in the admit card in case of a discrepancy by January 7. Test - takers will have to carry a clear coloured printout of CEED admit card to the exam centre. No candidates will be allowed to enter the exam centre with the admit card.

CEED 2020 Answer key

IIT Bombay will release CEED 2020 answer key for part A will on January 21. Candidates can file objections and the deadline for sending comments against the answer key till January 27, 2020. and the last date for sending comments is January 27. The authorities will release the final answer key of CEED 2020 on February 4. Candidates have to enter their credentials to login and match their responses. CEED answer key 2020 will include correct answers to the questions that will be asked in the entrance exam. Candidates can estimate their probable score by checking and comparing the answers.

CEED Result 2020

CEED 2020 result will be declared in online mode on March 4. Candidates have to enter their email ID and password to check the same. They can also download CEED score card, which has validity of one year from the date of result announcement. It is to be noted that CEED scorecard 2020 cannot be treated as a date of birth proof or category/disability status.

CEED Score Card 2020

CEED 2020 score will be released on March 4. Those who will appear in the entrance exam, only they can download the score card. Candidates can follow the steps below to download the score card:

  • Click on the score card link.

  • Submit the registered email ID and password.

  • Click on submit button.

  • Download CEED 2020 score card

  • Take a printout and keep it safely for future reference.

CEED Cutoff 2020

CEED 2020 cutoff is the minimum marks that candidates have to score to be eligible for admission. Those who score less than the cutoff of CEED 2020 will not be offered admission in the design course. Only those candidates who will obtain marks equal to or more than CEED 2020 cutoff will be eligible for admission. IIT Bombay will announce the cutoff of CEED 2020 to shortlist candidates for part B.

CEED 2020 Cutoff Part A

  • Cutoff marks for Open category- CEED cutoff 2020 for shortlisting candidates belonging to the General category will be calculated as follows:

X + ½ Σ, where X is the average marks scored by the candidate in Part A and Σ is the standard deviation

  • Cutoff marks for OBC-NCL category- The cutoff for shortlisting candidates belonging to OBC-NCL category candidates will be 90% of the open category.

  • Cutoff marks for ST, SC, PWD category- The cutoff for shortlisting candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD category will be 50% of the open category.

Note - Candidates must score equal to or more than the below mentioned minimum marks in Part A to be shortlisted.

CEED 2020 Cutoff Part B

Part B will include a total of eight questions of 100 marks. Of these, questions 1 to 5 is allotted 40 marks each. Candidates are given a choice to attempt any one of these questions. The responses will be evaluated manually, and a normalised score ‘S’ will be calculated by using this formula-

S = {(m − μi) Σ / σi} + A

Here,

  • m= is the raw marks obtained in question i

  • μi = the average of the raw marks secured by all candidates who attempted question i

  • σi = the standard deviation of the raw marks secured by all candidates who attempted question i Done

  • A = 20 and Σ = 5 are chosen to be the average and the standard deviation, respectively, of the distribution of scores ‘S’. If the calculated ‘S’ score for any candidates is less than 0, all such scores will be capped at 0, and if the calculated ‘S’ score for any candidate is more than 40, then all such scores will be capped at 40.

Marks obtained by candidate in other questions in part B will be added to ‘S’ for securing the part B score. The final score of CEED 2019 will be calculated by devoting 25 per cent weightage to the score secured by candidates in part A while the remaining 75 percent to the marks secured in part B post above calculation.

CEED 2020 Counselling

The participating institutes will hold CEED 2020 counselling individually to offer admission to students in M.Des. Candidates will have to apply separately for admission to these institutes. The individual institute may conduct an aptitude test or interview as a part of CEED counselling and admission process. The institutes will go through the portfolio of candidates during the interview or aptitude test to check their designing and sketching abilities.

Yes,  you are eligible for CEED exam as to be eligible for CEED 2020 exam ,aspirants needs to have completed their degree / diploma / post graduate degree programme of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level) or must be appearing for the final examination of such a programme by July 2020, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2020. hello aspirant,

you cannot apply in iit bombay, because they need minumum 4 years bachelors degree in engineering after 10+2 course. you may apply in iit kanpur or iisc bangalore, as they do not have any specific criteria. follow below link to get more updates

The application procedure will be online where candidates will have to register first, followed by entering of personal and academic details, uploading of documents and finally making the payment.

hello aspirant,

its completely fine if you are preparing for ceed exam. however there is no percentile or age limit for ceed exam. but different institute has different graduation marks criteria for admission in m. design. like iit delhi needs atleast 60% marks in graduation , 55% for sc/st. so  if you are from general category you will not eligible to apply. as per your score you can apply in iit bombay, iit guwahati, iit hyderabad, iit kanpur, but you need to bring a really good score in ceed exam, unless as per your profile there is very little chances of selection.

I have one year gap between 10+2 and graduation, so can I apply for ceed in m.des?

Dear Sanjay, there is no upper age limit for appearing for CEED and there is no cap on no.of attempts at CEED. For being eligible, you should have completed your Graduation/Diploma/Post graduation either in  4 or 3+2 years format. Candidates in their final year are also eligible.
