I have a 6 years of work experience and plan to appear for the CEED exam in Jan 2026. If I dont secure a top rank for admission to IITs or other top CEED accepting colleges, will my work experience, portfolio and Coursera certificate still add weight to my profile during the admission?

Taabia Fathima 10th Jul, 2025

Hello sir,

Thanks for reaching out!

Yes, you still have a good chance even with a mid CEED score, if the rest of your profile is strong. While the CEED score is important, most of the institutes use full selection process that includes your CEED score(Part A and B), Portfolio and often an interview or studio tests.Your 6 years of experience, strong portfolio and relevant coursera certificates can add significant value during admission in IITDM, Srishti etc which consider the overall profile not just the rank.

if my graduation will end in july 2025. But I am not giving CEED exam in 2025. and I want to give the exam in 2026 can I do that

Samprikta Mondal 27th Oct, 2024

Yes, you can definitely appear for the CEED exam in 2026, even if you're completing your graduation in July 2025.

As per the CEED 2025 eligibility criteria, you can appear for the exam if you are in the final year of your degree program or have completed it by July 2025.

So, you can plan to appear for CEED 2026 and pursue your M.Des. or Ph.D. in Design after completing your graduation.

I had a backlogs in my undergraduate. Am I eligible to write CEED to get into Mdes programme? And is there any problem after ceed at the time of admission and interview/ portfolio time... ???????

Tanya Gupta 27th Jan, 2024

Hello,

Maybe, because When it comes to eligibility for the CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design), having backlogs in your undergraduate program may not necessarily disqualify you from appearing for the exam. However, it is important to note that each institute has its own specific eligibility criteria for admission to their MDes programs. Some institutes may consider backlogs as a factor during the admission process, while others may not.

Hope this helps you,

Thank you
