About VIT Design Aptitude Test

Vellore Institute of Technology offers a 4-year full-time Bachelor of Design programme in the field of industrial design. The authorities will release the VIT DAT exam 2025 dates at vit.ac.in. The VIT DAT exam 2025 is for students who do not have a valid UCEED score.

VIT Admission 2025 Procedure

• A merit list will be prepared by the institute on the basis of 10+2 marks and a valid UCEED score or 10+2 marks and performance in VIT-DAT score

• The shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling. The counselling will be conducted virtually

VIT DAT Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the VIT DAT 2025 eligibility criteria before filling out the DAT application form. The candidate must be an Indian National or a Non-resident India National. Candidates born on or after July 1, 2003 are eligible to apply for the BDes programme for the 2025 academic year. Aspirants must carry the original birth certificate as proof of their age during the admission process. The candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Check the eligibility criteria given below:

VIT DAT Application Form 2025

Candidates must fill out the VIT DAT 2025 application form before the May 31. Candidates can follow the steps to fill out the VIT DAT 2025 registration:

• Go to the official website- vit.ac.in

• Register yourself by clicking on “New applicant”

• Fill out the application form

• Complete the process by paying the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1350

• Candidates can pay using Net banking, Debit card, Credit card, or Paytm

• Download the VIT DAT 2025 application form

• Take a printout for future reference

Documents to be Uploaded for VIT DAT

Candidates need to upload the following documents while filling out the VIT DAT 2025 application form:

• Age proof certificate/ Copy of Aadhar Card

• 12th grade admit card (for applicants awaiting results)

• 10+2 Mark statement (for all attempts)

• Valid UCEED score card (If available)

• Community Certificate (for SC/ST applicants)

• Copy of Nativity Certificate (For Applicants hailing from North Eastern States and Jammu & Kashmir/ Ladakh)

VIT DAT Pattern 2025

VIT DAT is the exam for candidates who have not attended UCEED exams, do not have a valid UCEED score or were disqualified in UCEED. The selection process consists of three stages:

• VIT DAT exam

  • 2 hours of written exam consisting of objective type questions - MSQ & MCQ, short descriptive answers, and creative ability questions

  • No negative marking will be there for wrong answers

  • Weightage 50%

• Portfolio review

  • Candidates need to present their original creative works like sketching, drawing, painting, craft works, and photography, etc.

  • Weightage 30%

• Personal interview

  • The last and final round be will be a personal interview

  • Weightage 20%

VIT DAT Result 2025

The results of shortlisted candidates will be announced vit.ac.in. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The candidates will receive an invitation for the online counselling process. However, the online counselling invitation does not guarantee a seat. The seat allotment will be determined by the candidate’s rank, along with the availability of the seats. Candidates must ensure that they meet all the eligibility requirements. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

• Login using the application number and password

• Upon successful login, the result will be displayed on the screen

• Download and take a printout of the same.

Candidates need to carry the following original documents during the time of admission:

• 10+2 mark statements of all attempts of qualifying examination

• Transfer Certificate/ School leaving Certificate

• Migration Certificate (if issued by the board)

• Student Profile (Signed by Student & Parent)

• Affidavit by the Student (Signed & Notarized)

• Affidavit by the Parent (Signed & Notarized)

• Hostel Affidavit (Signed & Notarized)

• Certificate of Physical Fitness (Certified by authorised Physician)

• Undertaking form (Signed by Student & Parent)

• 2 Recent passport size colour photos
