NIFT conducts its own entrance exam for admissions to a total of 2,370 seats across Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech) programmes.

Based on the result of NIFT 2018 of written test General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT), the shortlisted B.Design candidates were called for second test called Situation Test (April-May 2018). For B.F.Tech. candidates, GAT was the final test for selection. Seats to B.Design and B.F.Tech
