Q: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested or you switched?
A: I pursued filmmaking at IIAD.
Q: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?
A: I got placed at Userfacet as a filmmaker, where I did video editing, vector animation, filming for social media. Right now, I am taking a course in cinematography at AAFT Marwa Studios. Meanwhile, I am also in touch with Shootguru, from whom I get gigs like short films, BTS etc.
Q: Is the industry work different from what you learnt at Indian Institute of Art and Design?
A: The style of work is that the industry does not care about the design process. They just finished products and plans that yield better results.
Q: How do you think your time in IIAD has added value to your life, both professionally and personally?
A: I think design thinking has helped me become a better observer and decision-maker and has made me reflective and mindful of life and work.
Q: You must have had a memorable time at IIAD Delhi. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
A: Of course, I do. Some of the good memories are in think labs and material labs, visual communication classes, and with all the teachers. We used to have animation and film projects, putting up exhibitions, especially for the graphic design project during L4.
Q: Briefly take us through your life at the IIAD campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.
A: Most of the time, I used to reach class on time. Get on with the brief, and chill during the breaks and I would go play pool when I felt exhausted. I get the feedback from the teachers and head home.
Q: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did they enrich your life?
A: During L4, I was in the dance and we did perform as well.
Q: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of the institute in them?
A: I keep updated with the industrial requirements through teachers' guidance and also through internships and social media.
Q: You are a proud alumnus of this top college. What is the best part of IIAD from a student's perspective?
A: I think the best part of IIAD is that all ideas and experiments are welcomed.
Q: What is your suggestion/guidance for the design aspirants?
A: My suggestion for the design aspirants is to be hungry for growth and skills. Make friends and be welcoming to different perspectives and ideas.
