About IIAD Entrance Test 2026

Indian Institute of Art & Design Delhi (IIAD Delhi) will open the IIAD DAT 2026 application form tentatively in August 2025. Candidates will be able to submit the IIAD DAT application form 2026 from the official website - iiad.edu.in. The institute will open the IIAD DAT 2026 registrations in four phases. The IIAD DAT 2026 entrance exam will also be held in four phases in both online and offline modes. Candidates who qualify in the design entrance exam conducted by IIAD Delhi will be able to secure admissions into UG and PG design programmes. The design specialisations offered by the institute include fashion.

The IIAD eligibility criteria for UG is that candidates must have passed 10+2 in any stream from a recognised university. Candidates must complete graduation in any stream for admission into PG programmes of IIAD. Candidates who completed the registration before the deadline will be able to download the admit card. The admit card of IIAD DAT 2026 includes details like name, allotted exam centre, time, roll number, and exam day guidelines. There will be a portfolio round for the candidates shortlisted after the entrance exam.

What is IIAD Entrance Exam?

IIAD Design Aptitude Test is the entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Arts and Design for admissions into its UG and PG design programmes. The exam is conducted in online and offline modes. The IIAD DAT syllabus is designed to assess the candidate's creative and visual ability, cultural awareness, and logical thinking. 

  • For the UG admissions, applicants must appear for the IIAD DAT entrance exam followed by a portfolio interview. Direct admissions are also provided based on the scores of other entrance examinations.
  • For the PG admissions, the candidates must appear for the IMAT entrance exam. The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The selected candidates will be granted admission.

The aspirants planning to be admitted to the IIAD design course must meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the institute for admissions into its UG and PG programmes. The IIAD eligibility criteria 2026 are provided separately for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Programme

  • Candidates with 10+2 or equivalent from any stream (Science, Commerce, Humanities/Arts) with 50% as minimum score. 

  • The students who are going to appear for class 12 exams or who are awaiting their class 12 results are also eligible to apply.

  • The students from CBSE/ISC/State/IB or any other equivalent Indian or International Higher Secondary Board are eligible.

Postgraduate Programme Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduates from any stream or discipline from a recognised institute/university.

  • Final-year graduate students are also eligible.

  • Candidates who are awaiting results may also apply.

IIAD Delhi prescribes the IIAD exam pattern and syllabus on its official website. To know the IIAD exam pattern, the candidates have to go through and check the previous year's IIAD sample papers. The applicants usually receive sample test papers as soon as the IIAD application form is submitted.
