Can I get selected in NID dat mains 2019 in bdes if Iam getting 55-60 marks out of 100?? Plzz ..reply. ..

Anusha Gaur 19th Feb, 2019

I believe that you might be able to qualify the prelims but it still is a close call. You can't be as sure. I'd suggest you stay ambitious, however, while staying open to some of more B.Des programmes offered in India. I'd here recommend JK Lakshmipat University, which offers B.Des in Product Design, Interaction Design, and Interdisciplinary Design. The B.Des programme at JKLU is designed and led by A. Balasubramaniam, one of the most prominent designers of India, an NID veteran himself.

JK Lakshmipat University is the philanthropic initiative of the 125-year-old JK Organisation. You can go through their information at www.jklu.edu.in and apply for their entrance exam.

what are my chances to get into nid if i get minimum 25/30 in gat and min. 30/70 in cat. m from obc category

Monika Rawat 25th Jan, 2019

Hi, thanks for reaching us. There might be some confusion or some typing error. To take admission in NID, you need to give DAT exams (prelims and mains) and then you'll be selected for studio test and interview round. As fas as I remember, to get admission in NID you'll need to get a score of 55% for a person from OBC category. It changes every year so you'll need to check their website. But I will suggest to aim higher than to be on the safer side. Whereas you give CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test) exams to get into NIFT. Since, they have campuses all around India, each campus gives out their cut off list for various courses. If you want to know more about NIFT, tell me your preferable campus and course.
