NID Design Aptitude Test
Hello,
National Institute of Design (NID) is an ‘Institute of National Importance’ as per the NID Act 2014 as well as an autonomous institute under the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. It conducts Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for admissions to Bachelor of Design Programmes offered at NID Ahmedabad (main campus).
NID DAT exam, as a whole, consists of three stages –
A final NID Merit List of selected candidates is prepared after this round. Only the candidates who clear these three stages would get admission in the college.
No doubt your rank is really good and you stand really good chance in NID, but admission is based on not just one's rank (as you can see above). There will be PI and studio test too which you'd need to clear in order to be selected for admission.
Thank you.
Hi Lakshmi.
Your daughter's rank in mains is 245 and she called for counselling so she have decent chance to get seat in good college but where that i am unable to tell because it doesn't decided after counselling
Hello Jihoo,
The basic idea behind counseling session conducted by NID is to sort the admission process based upon merit list. For the 1st merit list, the procedure will be completed before 15th June 2019, and for 2nd merit list, the procedure will start at the end of June 2019.
The counseling process for B.des and M.des primarily involves 3 steps;
1) Online consent by qualified candidates
2) Uploading of documents
3) The provisional offer of admission
NO, you don't have to pay anything.
All the best!

Hi Vaishnav,
Assuming you are in general category I have the following predictions. There are a total of 100 seats offered for B.Des in NID Ahmedabad. There are 60 in Vijayawada and 60 in Kurukshetra. According to previous year results, you have quite less probability to get a seat in NID Ahmedabad. But you may get a seat in NID Kurukshetra. All the best!!!
Hello Ma'am. Your daughter has scored an average result and there are chances of her getting into NID college. All you have to do is browse and get to know the cut offs in the colleges that she wishes to get in and accordingly apply in those colleges. I have provided a link below that might help you to know about the colleges and courses offered and also the cut offs for various cap rounds. Wishing your daughter luck for her future.

The application form for the academic year 2019-20 was released on 1st October 2018. So if you want to apply for the next academic year i.e. 2020 then you'll have to apply in October of this year.
For the inter personal test, the candidates were divided in groups of ten acc to their roll numbers. Each group was assigned an object, for eg. Key, cello tape, and they had to form a story with that object as an element. Each person has 40 seconds to speak, and the next person continues the story from where the last person left off.
They judge you most likely on your communication skills, team work, delivery, teamwork, confidence, presentation, presence of mind, spontaneity and of course, imagination.
