Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design
Hello Ishika,
There are various rank predictors listed on websites that you can use to calculate your rank. You need to input the questions and correct attempts in order to know the same. The cutoff of UCEED was 100 marks and score above was accepted.
Hope this helps. All the best!
hello,
Cut-offs, every year, are decided based upon factors like the number of candidates appearing for UCEED, the difficulty level of the exam, total number of seats available, and also the past years' cut-off trends to some extent.
IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED joint admission counseling for the admission of students in B.Des courses offered by IIT-B, IIT-G, IIITDM and IIT Hyderabad(batch starting from this year). IIT-B, IIT-G, and IIITDM have 30, 45 and 30 seats for their B.Des programme respectively.
Their last year cut off rank for OBC-NCL was 37 for IIT Guwahati, 59 for IIITDM(in the third round) and 14 for IIT-B(in the second round). So chances are less here.
There are even other good institutes you can go for like Central Institute of Technology(Kokrajhar), Nirma University, VIT University, UPES(Dehradun), Lovely Professional University(Phagwara), Delhi Technological University, MIT World Peace University(Pune) who will take admission to their Undergraduate on the basis of UCEED score, but will not participate in the joint admission counselling conducted by IIT Bombay. In order to take admission in these institutes, you need to apply to these institutes directly and they have their own admission procedure to be followed for the admission process.
There are limited seats for B.Des in IITs and other prestigious institutes. So your admission will completely depend on the applicants and their ranks since nowadays there exists fierce competition in every field.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
Hi dear,
You have got 132.5 marks and your rank is 667 in uceed. With this rank you have a low chance to get IITs you can also check here cutoff of last year

Hope it helps
The B.Des life is hectic but interesting. there will be lots of project works and assignments to keep you busy but the work will be fun. The exams scene for B.Des students is quite calm and relaxed whereas the rest of the institute goes frenzy over the exams. Campus life is enjoyable and B.Des students are most sought after when it comes to any cultural event or any artistic work.
Now let's relate B.Des degree and a B.Tech degree, for a B.tech degree basics of only particular discipline like ECE, ME, CE, CSE is required. On the other hand, in B.Des, there are finer disciplines like product design, user interface design or animation, and film design. B.Des comprises of courses which cover all these finer disciplines which give incredible creative freedom to a designer in his/her work.
This is the second year of B.Des from IIT-B hence no placement stats are available but as per the job offers given to the master students one can expect good placements for B.Des. For IIT Guwahati previous years record of placements was very good. The average package for B.Des graduates here has been nearly 16-17 LPA. Most designers create their career in the field of interaction design. Companies like Microsoft, Flipkart, Ola, Uber, Samsung RnD etc hire designers from IIT Guwahati mostly for the role of UI/UX designer.
Apart from this, after completing B.Des from IIT you'll also have opportunities for higher studies in excellent institutes like MIT, Stanford University, Harvard University, University of Michigan etc.
But a few things to be noted here are if you are a serious engineering aspirant and not much of an art person or don't have a passion for creativity and designing, then this field won't support you long. This course should not be preferred just for getting into a good government college. You may crack UCEED with a good rank but may not be able to compete with the best of creative minds in your batch until you have a creative bent of mind.
Core branches from good IITs still have that charm. So if you are more into engineering subjects rather than design subjects better to go for B.Tech in core branches. So, choose wisely as what interests you more. You are the best person to decide for yourself!
All the best.

Hello Shibalika.
As the seats are very less for the participating institutes (IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIITDM Jabalpur) therefore your chances of getting into these institutes is quite tough with this rank. The previous years closing ranks for Open Category are:
