Hello,
Cutoffs every year are decided according to the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, the total number of seats available and previous year's cutoff trends.
According to the past year UCEED cut-offs and a limited number of seats for admission into B.Des programmes of IITs, the chances here seems less.
With this rank, you can look for other good institutes taking admission to their B.Des programmes on the basis of UCEED score. A few of them are
1. Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar
2. UPES, Dehradun
3. Lovely Professional University, Phagwara
4. Nirma University
5. VIT University
6. Delhi Technological University
These institutes do not participate in the joint admission counseling conducted by IIT Bombay. You need to directly apply to these institutes. They have their own selection procedure for admission to their undergraduate programme apart from the UCEED scores.
Since nowadays there is huge competition among the aspirants, so admission will depend on the number of applicants and their respective ranks.
Hope it helps!
Hello Adarshini. Your score and rank might get you into IIT GUWAHATI or IIITDM JABALPUR according to the previous years records. The closing ranks last year for UCEED in IITs and IIITDM JABALPUR are:
All the above mentioned closing ranks are for open category students.
Hope this helps. For more queries please feel free to comment down below.
Good luck!
Hello Anuradha. With this rank your chances of getting IIT BOMBAY, IIT GUWAHATI & IIITDM JABALPUR are tough as there are very few seats. The previous years cutoff for OBC category are:

Hello Abhishek,
Cutoffs, every year, are decided by taking into account factors like the number of candidates appearing for the exam, the difficulty level of the paper, the number of seats available for the candidates and the previous years' cut-offs to some extent.
IIT Bombay will conduct UCEED Joint Admission Counselling for the admission of students to the B.Des courses offered by IIT-B, IIT Guwahati, IIITDM and IIT Hyderabad(batch starting this year).
These previous years' cut-off ranks will give you a fair idea about your position and chances.
2018 cut-off under ST category for IIT-B closing rank was 2 closed in the first round, for IIT Guwahati it was 7 closed in the second round and for IIITDM it was 9 closed in the second round of counselling.
According to 2017 cut-off trends, under ST category for IIT-B closing rank was 3 in the first round, for IIT-Guwahati was 7 in the second round and for IIITDM was 10 in the third round of counselling.
You can apply for other good institutes as well. These are-
Central Institute of Technology(Kokrajhar)
Nirma University
Lovely Professional University(Phagwara)
VIT University
UPES Dehradun
Delhi Technological University
MIT World Peace University(Pune)
U.P. Institute of Design(Noida)
World University of design(Delhi)
Chandigarh University
Shristi Institute of Art design and technology(Bengaluru)
Chitkara University(Punjab), and,
Khyati school of Design(Ahmedabad)
These institutes are going to take candidates for their Undergraduate course based on the UCEED score but will not take part in the joint admission counselling conducted by IIT Bombay. You have to apply to these institutes directly according to your UCEED score but every institute will have their own admission procedure to be followed for admission.
There are limited seats in IITs and other renowned institutes for B.Des programmes. So your chances in any institute will completely depend on the number of applicants for the institute and their ranks as there exists huge competition among the aspirants in every field.
Hope it helps! You can revert back for any further queries.
All the Best!
