NID MDes Entrance Exam 2027: Registration (Open), Exam Date, Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The National Institute of Design has opened the NID DAT 2027 M.Des application form on Sepbtember 10 on its official website. The last date to apply is November 30, 2026. All candidates will have to submit the application form before the prescribed deadline. Upon submitting the application form, candidates will be allowed to submit their corrections if there are any.  The correction window will be open from December 1 to 3, 2026.

Age limit

• Candidates belonging to the general and general EWS category born on or after July 1, 1995 are eligible to apply for the exam. 
• Reserved category candidates such as OBC-NCL, SC, ST should be born on or after July 1, 1992. 
• The PwD category candidates should have been born on or after July 1, 1990.
• For foreign nationals, candidates should have been born on or after July 1, 1995.

Educational qualifications

• Candidates must have a bachelor's degree of a minimum of 4 years in any specialisation, after 12th standard from a recognised institute or university. (Note: Candidates must have appeared for all subjects and backlogs, if any, by June 2027)

• Candidates must have a full-time diploma of 4 years' duration in design/fine arts/applied arts/architecture, after completing Class 12, from any recognised university or institute. (Note: Candidates must have appeared for all subjects and backlogs, if any, by June 2027)

• Applicants must have completed a 3-year bachelor's degree in any specialisation from a recognised board or university.
• Students who will be appearing in the final year of the bachelor's degree exam or full-time diploma programme and may not have received the final degree certificate are also eligible. However, the selected candidates should produce their result certificates before the specified date given by the authorities.

The NID DAT MDes 2027 exam pattern will be released online on the official website. The NID DAT 2027 MDes exam pattern consists of the total number of questions, types of questions, mode, and duration of the exam. The NID DAT MDes exam pattern comprises two sections - Prelims and Mains. The shortlisted candidates from the NID DAT Prelims need to appear for the NID DAT Mains exam. The candidates must carry the hard copy of the NID DAT MDes admit card to the examination centre on the day of the entrance exam.
