A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type from Type A to E.
Eligibility Criteria for MAH AAC CET Exam

Type-A | Candidates passing SSC and also HSC from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State. Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra. |
Type-B | A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses Domicile Certificate. |
Type-C | A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP. |
Type-D | A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking. |
Type-E | Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose mother tongue is Marathi. |
All India Candidature - Candidates who have Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.
Minority Candidature - Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority Community from State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government are eligible under this Category.
NRI Candidature – The Candidate who fulfils the conditions as mentioned in the official brochure are eligible.
Foreign Student or OCI or PIO Candidature - The eligibility criteria for the Foreign Student Candidates, the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidate, and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are mentioned in the MAH AAC CET official brochure.
Note: For the candidates belonging to Maharashtra State Candidature, Minority Candidature, All India Candidature Candidates and Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidature Candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A.), it is mandatory to appear for MAH AAC CET 2026.

Fill and complete the registration process by providing the personal information such as name, mobile number, gender and email Id.
Click on the MAH AAC CET application form.
Enter the login credentials.

Upload the required documents.
Pay the MAH AAC CET application fee as per the category they belong to.
Submit the MAH AAC CET application form online.

The Maharashtra State CET cell will release the eligibility criteria for MAH AAC CET exam in January 2026 tentatatively.
The minimum eligibility criteria for MAH AAC CET exam is that candidates must pass their 10+2 with 45% minimum aggregate marks.
There is no MAH AAC CET exam age limit as per the previous year, however the MAH AAC CET eligibility 2026 is yet to be released.
The eligibility criteria for Maharashtra State candidature candidates are as follows:
Should be an Indian National.
Pass 10+2 (any stream) from Maharashtra State Board or equivalent, with English as a subject.
Minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40 % marks for Backward Class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability category from Maharashtra).
Obtained non-zero score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
Given that you scored 42% in the MHT CET, securing admission to top engineering colleges in Maharashtra might be challenging as top branches like Computer Science and IT often have cutoff percentiles of 99+.
However, some private colleges and less competitive branches might still be accessible. You could consider exploring colleges and branches with lower cutoffs, such as:

1.Fabtech Technical Campus, College of Engineering: This college had a cut-off percentile of 42.02 for Computer Engineering in 2022.
2.Jaywant College of Engineering & Management, Killemachindragad: This college had a cut-off percentile of 6.11 for Computer Engineering in 2023.
3.D Y Patil College of Engineering and Technology: In Round 1 of 2022, the cutoff percentile for this college was 42.52.
4.Government College of Engineering, Amravati: This college offered Civil Engineering with a cut-off percentile of 20.3198986 (DEFROBCS category) and Electrical Engineering with a cut-off percentile of 7.5516424 (LSTS category).

At the score of 50% in MHT CET exam, there are very limited options for engineering colleges especially government colleges. You should look for colleges or universities that allow direct admissions like BVIMR Pune or DY Patil.
Keep in mind BVIMR also conducts their own CET exam so you might need to consider management quota.

With 54 percentile in MHT CET, you have a fair chance of getting branches like Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering in private or lower-tier engineering colleges across Maharashtra. Highly demanded branches like CSE,IT,or AI will be tough at this percentile unless you belong to a reserved category or consider low-demand private colleges.

With 74 percentile in MHT-CET PCM and OBC category , you have a fair chance of getting branches like IT,AI,ML,Data science,ENTC in Mid-level engineering Colleges in Maharashtra. Getting CSE in top colleges may not be possible as their cut-offs are usually above 85-90 percentile.but you might get it i some private or regional colleges in later rounds.
Here are the possible colleges where you may get a seat in branches like AI,IT,ML,Data science and ENTC:

You may get AI,ML,ENTC in these colleges ITor CS may be tougher but possible especially in later rounds.
