1. Low-demand branches (like civil, mechanical, production)
2. Low-tier private colleges
3. Defence quota helps slightly but not enough to get into top colleges with this percentile.
With a percentile of 64.38, your approximate rank is around 60,000. While top-tier colleges like VJTI, SPIT, and KJ Somaiya are out of reach, you still have a chance in several mid-tier autonomous colleges in the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai region through later CAP rounds.
Colleges like VESIT (Chembur) and Shah & Anchor (SAKEC) are autonomous and occasionally have vacancies in the Electronics or Electronics & Telecommunication branches during later rounds, though their general cutoff usually stays within the top 15,000. On the other hand, Pillai College of Engineering (Panvel) and SIES GST (Nerul) have slightly more flexible cutoffs and are known to accept students with ranks closer to yours, especially in the Electronics-related branches.
