NID Entrance Exam 2024: B.Des Mains Admit Card (Out), Dates, Syllabus, Preparation

NID DAT 2024 : The National Institute of Design (NID) released the NID DAT B.Des prelims cutoff at admissions.nid.edu . The NID DAT 2024 cutoff varies across different categories. According to the NID 2024 prelims cutoff, the candidate with the last rank who was shortlisted for the NID BDes Mains in the General category had a rank of 253. In addition, the cutoff score for the NID DAT 2024 for the General category is 58.50.

The total number of candidates shortlisted for the NID DAT B.Des mains exam in the General category is 682. After the announcement of the NID DAT Mains results, the authorities will also announce the campus-wise NID 2024 cutoff. NID DAT B.Des Prelims Cutoff 2024:

NID DAT studio test admit card for B.Des Mains exams was released on April 15, 2024. Candidates can download the NID DAT B.Des Mains admit card for studio test by using the login credentials such as email ID and date of birth. Candidates need to carry the hard copy of the NID DAT admit card to the exam centre along with original proof IDs. NID DAT B.Des Mains studio test will be held on April 28, Sunday.

The authorities has opened the  NID DAT B.Des Mains test centre selection at admissions.nid.edu. Candidates can choose the NID DAT BDes Mains exam centres from April 8 to April 10. Candidates can select the DAT BDes Mains test centres by using the login credentials such as email ID address and date of birth. The National Institute of Design has declared the NID DAT B.Des Prelims results on April 4, 2024. Candidates can download the NID DAT Prelims results for B.Des programme by using the NID login credentials such as email ID and password.  The NID DAT prelims exam was held on December 24. NID DAT M.Des prelims result 2024 was released on February 16, 2024.

The NID authorities released the NID DAT Mains admit card 2024 for MDes aspirants. NID Mains M.Des exam will be held from March 3 to April 6, 2024 . The NID authorities released the DAT M.Des schedule for various disciplines on its official website. NID announced the detailed schedule on registration timings, Studio test dates, and personal interview dates . Candidates who will qualify for the NID DAT 2024 prelims exam will be eligible to appear for the Mains exam. Candidates can check the NID DAT M.Des schedule 2024 dates Camps wise are announced on its official website - admissions.nid.edu/NIDA2024. As per the NID DAT exam date 2024, the NID Mains will be conducted on April 28 for BDes and between March 3 and April 6 for MDes.  NID DAT Mains will be conducted in multiple formats such as in a studio set-up.

The authorities conducted the NID DAT 2024 prelims exam on December 24, 2023. NID DAT exam timings 2024 were 10 am to 1 PM. The institute conducts the NID Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT) for the aspirants seeking B.Des and M.Des admission at NID campuses and other result-sharing institutes . Candidates can download the NID Mains admit card 2024 on April 15 and February 22 for BDes and MDes respectively. Aspirants can use their email ID and password for NID DAT entrance exam admit card download. Final NID admission 2024 will be done based on the weightage of marks obtained in NID DAT prelims and mains. Seat allotment process will be done either in online or offline mode. The authorities will release details on NID DAT counselling process shortly at the official website.

The NID DAT application form 2024 with late fee was open till December 7. The application form for NID DAT 2024 was available only in online mode at admissions.nid.edu. The NID DAT 2024 application correction window was open from December 8 to 10.  The authority opened the correction window to review and edit the NID DAT exam application form except for the candidate's name, date of birth, programme applied in, registered mobile number, and email address.

Applicants had to pay the applicable additional application form fees if they change their applied category during the “Window to Edit” period (December 8 to 10 2023). In the case of any category change, the excess fee paid during the registration will not be refunded.

What is NID DAT?

NID Design Aptitude Test commonly known as NID DAT is a two-tier design entrance test that consists of a prelims exam and a mains exam. The entrance test is conducted every year at the national level to shortlist students for B.Des and M.Des admission offered by NIDs campuses. NID DAT is conducted to assess candidates' knowledge, skill, and behavioural abilities. NID admission is wholly based on candidates' performance in NID DAT.

The 4-year BDes programmes are offered at NID Ahmedabad, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam. Whereas 2-year MDes programmes are offered at NID Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Bengaluru.

As per the eligibility criteria of NID DAT 2024, the candidates must meet the age limit, educational qualifications, and qualifying exam accepted by NID. Only those candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria should apply for the entrance test. The eligibility criteria for NID are explained below.

Educational Qualifications

• B.Des Programme - Candidates must have passed 12th standard in any stream ( Science , Humanities , Commerce ) from CBSE , IB, ICSE , or equivalent recognized board. Candidates appearing for Class 12 exams in 2024 are also eligible to apply.

• M.Des Programme - Candidates must have completed Bachelor's degree from a recognized college/ university. Candidates must not exceed 30 years of age as on June 30, 2024.

Age Limit

• Candidates up to 20 years of age on or before 30th June 2004 are eligible to apply. For reserved category candidates, an age relaxation of three years is available. PwD category candidates born on or after 1st July 1999 are eligible to apply for admission

The application form window for NID DAT 2024 was commenced on September 8, 2023. The NID DAT 2024 registration form is available only in online mode - admissions.nid.edu. Candidates can fill out the online application form for NID DAT 2024 with a regular fee by December 5, 2023.
