According to the UCEED exam pattern 2026, the UCEED exam question paper Part A consisted of three sections with detailed analysis below.
Difficulty Level | The difficulty level was Moderate to Difficult |
Ideal Time | 30-45 minutes |
Good Attempt | 18 questions (No Negative Marking) |
Focus Areas | Patterns and Sequences, Surface counting, Relations and Sets, Area and Geometry, Pattern completion, Linear inequalities, Counting Shapes, Simple rotation, |

Approach: Question 9 is based on school mathematics, and deals with Sets and Relations. Students must be thorough with scholastic mathematics and science-related questions for this section. Geometry is quite an important topic as well. Since there is no negative marking for this section, students must take advantage of this section score well, and attempt all questions.
People who read x+ people who read y-(Total surveyed)= people who read x and y
100+120-200= people who read x and y
220-200= people who read x and y
20=people who read x and y
Now people who don’t read either x or y but not both = 200-20
=180
Total people who read newspaper= Total surveyed – people who do not read any newspaper
=200-50
=150
People who read both x and y = people who read x +people who read y-people who read newspaper
=100+120-150
=220-150
=70
People who read either publication x or y but not both = People read newspaper - People who read both x and y
People who read either publication x or y but not both =150-70 =80
Another example is question number 11
Q.11 A square of side 10 units, shaded in yellow, is cut using a square of side 5 units as shown in the figure. What is the perimeter of the resulting shape, shaded in yellow?

Approach: This question required simple mathematics and mensuration. Scholastic subjects hence play an important role for UCEED.
Solution:

Perimeter= 10+10+10+a+b+5+5+c+d
=40+a+b+c+d
a+ b +c+ d = side of square=10
So, perimeter=40+10=50 units
Difficulty Level | The difficulty level was Moderate |
Ideal Time | 30-40 minutes |
Good Attempt | 18 Questions (Negative Marking) |
Focus Areas | Seamless Patterns and Nets, Patterns, Knots, Equations, Three-dimensional side views, shadows, Pattern Completion. |

Approach: Question 36 deals with pattern recreation and net making. In the MSQ section, one can expect tricky questions that need to be answered spontaneously. Students must solve multiple UCEED Previous Year Question papers to get a hang of this speed. The question can be solved using color coding.
Solution: To make it easy, color-coded them.

If we fold the above figure we can find that yellow is adjacent to white, green is adjacent to gray, and blue is adjacent to pink, so according to the rules only one color among adjacent can come in a folded cube. Now check each option one by one.
Option A:

We know yellow, green, and pink are not adjacent, so this is correct Option B:
Option B is incorrect.
Option C: Is correct, as no two adjacent are coming together.

Option D: It is incorrect, as green and gray are adjacent, so they can’t come together.

Hence, options A and C are correct.
Difficulty Level | Easy |
Ideal Time | 30-35 minutes |
Good Attempt | 32 Questions |
Focus Areas | Views, Patterns, Statements, Mirror images, GK, Shadows, Probability, Rotation and simple gears |

Approach: Question 68 is related to the concept of rotation and simple gears. Students must hence be familiar with simple mechanisms, gears etc. This is the trickiest section of the 2022 UCEED paper. Questions are with negative marking and hence special attention must be paid to them while solving.
Solution: When P is moving clockwise then Red pin will make Q move so it will bring it make down so it Q will move anticlockwise but when this pin comes Here,

In this position it will come out of this, and it will stop and again when it comes to this position it will move in clockwise direction Hence Q will move in anticlockwise.
Let us look at the Part B drawing question which tests different abilities each year. Let us look at some criteria that the question judges the students on:

Focus of the question: A variety of figures to be drawn, this question mainly aims to check a student’s ability to draw in proportions relatively. The focus is also on drawing facial features and expressions as well as possible. This can be drawn either as a one- or two-point perspective, from the canteen owner’s point of view.
Overall, the UCEED question paper 2022 was moderately difficult and time-consuming. Students preparing for this exam can look into strategies and important topics for UCEED preparation in a year to get a better hang on preparation and ace the exam.

Hello,
For admission to Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University (ADYPU), you must score a minimum of 50% in your 12th grade for the general category. However, ADYPU conducts its own entrance exam, known as the ACET ADYPU Common Entrance Exam, which includes a studio test and a personal interview. So, you would have a chance for admission based on how well you score in the entrance exam.
Hope it helps!!!

Hello!
UCEED is a competitive exam for design aspirants, testing design aptitude, logical thinking, creativity, and visualisation skills. To improve your score out of 300, start by understanding the exam pattern—Part A (objective) and Part B (subjective). For Part A, practice reasoning, numerical aptitude, and environmental & social awareness questions. For Part B, focus on drawing, sketching, and presenting your ideas clearly. Solve past year UCEED papers and join online mock test series. Spend at least 2–3 hours daily practising creative problem-solving and sketching. Also, work on time management because the exam requires quick thinking.
