The Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay requires candidates to follow the CEED Dress code 2026 when appearing for the entrance exam. According to the schedule, the CEED Entrance exam 2026 will be conducted on January 18, 2026, on a Sunday between 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Candidates need to follow the CEED dress code to ensure a smooth checking process at the CEED exam centre. The CEED dress code is important for the following reasons.
Facilitate quick and hassle-free security checks
Prevent the use of unfair means
Maintain uniformity and transparency at exam centres
Avoid delays during entry and verification procedures
Failure to follow the dress code may result in additional scrutiny, delay in entry, or even denial of entry to the examination hall.
The CEED 2026 exam does not impose an overly strict uniform. However, candidates are expected to dress simply and comfortably. Candidates can refer to the list below to know more about the recommended CEED dress code 2026.
Light, comfortable clothing suitable for a three-hour examination
Half-sleeve or full-sleeve shirts/tops without excessive pockets
Trousers, jeans, or simple salwar-type bottoms
Footwear such as slippers or sandals (preferably open footwear)

Heavy jackets, hoodies, or coats
Clothes with multiple pockets
Caps, hats, scarves, stoles, or headgear (unless for religious reasons)
Any clothing with metal accessories or large buttons
Although CEED 2026 does not prescribe a strict dress code for female candidates, it is important to dress appropriately for a formal CEED examination 2026 environment. Candidates can follow the guidelines stipulated below.
Male candidates appearing for CEED 2026 are also advised to wear simple and season-appropriate attire that suits a formal exam setting.
Candidates are specifically advised not to have certain accessories or equipment on their person that will violate the dress code of the CEED entrance exam. Some of the restrictions on the dress code involves:
Candidates are not permitted to carry mobile phones or wear digital watches in the exam hall. Any candidate found with them will be asked to remove them or leave them with their parent/guardian during frisking.
Jewellery, bracelets, rings, chains, or hair accessories with metal
Candidates will be asked to remove sunglasses or goggles
Wallets or purses (unless essential)
According to the guidelines Since CEED is a design-based entrance examination, candidates are permitted to carry limited stationery items. The list of necessary equipment has been provided below.
Ball Pen (Blue or Black): Candidates must carry their own pen. Candidates are advised to bring ballpoint pens with a clear case to avoid having them confiscated.
Drawing Materials: Candidates need to bring certain drawing materials for the CEED 2026 entrance exam, such as:
Pencils in a transparent pouch
A writing board (A4 size only, optional)
