LPU has concluded Phase 1 counselling for Round 2. The counselling dates for Round 2 were from May 8 to May 15, 2024. The authorities released the result of the allotment on May 17, 2024. Candidates were alloted seats from May 17 to May 20. Earlier, round 1 counselling of LPU was held from May 6 to 7, 2024. Admissions to LPU design courses are done based on the candidate's performance in entrance exams conducted by the Lovely professional university or other design entrance exams.

LPU BDes Selection Criteria

For LPU BDes 2024 admission, candidates can appear and qualify the LPUNEST exam. However, aspirants having a valid UCEED, NID DAT (prelims), NIFT or NIFT BFTech are also eligible for LPU BDes admission 2024.

LPU MDes Selection Criteria

For LPU MDes 2024 admission, candidates having a valid score in any of the following can apply for a design PG course at Lovely Professional University.

LPU Design Course Eligibility Criteria 2024

LPU BDes Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates should have scored 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST or UCEED or undergraduate NID DAT (prelims) Or undergraduate NIFT or NIFT B.FTech.

LPU MDes Eligibility Criteria 2024

Aspirants should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in 4 Years Bachelor's Degree with Design or Fine Arts or Applied Arts or B. Arch. or B. Plan. or B. Construction Management or B.Tech. (Any Stream) or Allied fields or equivalent.

LPU Admission Process 2024

Candidates can appear in LPUNEST 2024 to get admission in various courses at Lovely professional university. However, candidates having a valid score in design entrance exams can apply for LPU design admissions. Candidates need to meet the basic eligibility criteria and qualify for the entrance exam with merit to get admission to LPU design admission 2024. Registration: Candidates need to register themselves on the official website of LPU i.e lpu.in. Register into 'LPU ADMIT 'with personal details with an active email ID. Apply LPUNEST (Entrance exam and scholarship Test): Candidates have to fill the application form along with the fee deposition. The application form fee and softcopy of LPUNEST kit is Rs 500 for girls and Rs 1000 for boys.

Book exam slot and appear: Candidates to book the exam slot to appear in LPUNEST exam. Candidates can appear for test centre based exams or remotely protected online exams. Students can choose any of the two options.

Result and Seat Allotment: Candidates need to download the results from the LPU official website. After getting the score or rank, candidates need to fill the seat preference. Registration for LPU design admission for Phase 2 is stared on May 1. Candidates should read the important instructions before applying for LPU application form 2024. Here are some steps for how to apply for the LPUNEST Entrance test.

• Applicants have to sign up or LPUNEST by visiting the official website of LPU i.e lpu.in.

• Applicants have to register onto LPU ADMIT with basic details such as name, email id, mobile number, state, gender.

• Applicant’s email id will be their username. Next applicants need to set a strong password while registering on the portal.

• Now, applicants can login to the LPU ADMIT with already created username and password.

• With the help of username and password, candidates can apply for LPUNEST (Eligibilty and scholarship test)

• Deposit the application form fee and LPUNEST kit fee i.e Rs 500 for girls and Rs 1000 for boys. If candidates want printed LPUNEST kit, Rs 500 will increase for both boys and girls

• Complete the test application form.

LPUNEST BDes Exam Syllabus

There are three sections which students need to prepare for LPUNEST entrance exam.

General Ability Test (GAT): This section examines the basic numerical ability along with logical reasoning of the students.

• Quantitative Aptitude and Analytical Reasoning includes basic arithmetic calculations such as addition, multiplication, division and subtraction. Moreover, aptitude also includes the rate of interest, work and time, ratio and proportion, etc. Further, analytical aptitude includes seating arrangement, assertion and reason, blood relation, and direction sense test, etc.

• Communication ability and English comprehension: Basic english such as antonyms, synonyms, one-word substitution, idioms and phrases, and Comprehension.

• General knowledge and current affairs: This section covers Indian history, geography, politics and economics overall. Important days and weeks along with current national and international news should be updated.

Design Thinking: In this section, students are tested on the basis of visualisation and spatial ability, operation and design sensitivity, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning.

• Visualisation and spatial ability: pictorial and diagrammatic questions to test, understanding of transformation and manipulation of 2D and 3D objects along with their spatial relation.

• Observation and Design Sensitivity: Ability to detect concealed properties in ordinary things, people, situations, and events. Applying attention to the certain details. Ability to discern subtle differences in visual properties and aesthetic outcome.

• Environmental and social Awareness: General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, natural resources and their implications on the design.

• Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Ability to look at information whether qualitative and quantitative in nature or discern patterns within the information. Ability to weigh opinions, arguments or solutions against appropriate criteria. Ability to check hidden bias or hidden assumptions and whether evidence and argument support conclusions. Ability to use logic and structured thinking to deduce from a short passage, which of a number of statements is the most accurate response to a posted question. Data interpretation, brain teasers and patterns.

• Design Thinking and problem solving: Ability to use visual analogy, metaphors, signs and symbols. Ability to understand complexity, identify problems and generate alternatives and evaluate options and select solutions.

Creative Ability Test (CAT): This test is administered to judge the skill, power of observation, sense of composition, creativity, diversity of Idea and design ability of the candidates. It is conducted for understanding the creative quotient of the student, the mind level and the conceptualisation along with required technical skills for the concerned program will be gauged through this.

LPU Design Result 2024

LPUNEST entrance exam 2024 will be conducted in multiple phases. After each schedule, the university will release the scores obtained by the students along with a list of the rank secured by the students. Students will get the scholarship on the basis of the rank secured.
