Admissions to LPU design courses are done based on the candidate's performance in entrance exams conducted by the Lovely professional university or other design entrance exams.

LPU BDes Selection Criteria

For LPU BDes 2025 admission, candidates can appear and qualify the LPUNEST exam. However, aspirants having a valid UCEED, NID DAT (prelims), NIFT or NIFT BFTech are also eligible for LPU BDes admission 2025.

LPU BDes Eligibility Criteria 2025

• Applicants should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2025, in final examination of 10+2 from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi) or The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE, New Delhi) or State Board or any other Council, Institution, college etc. declared recognised by Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), New Delhi or any other concerned apex body as applicable.
• Pass with 90% aggregate marks* in 10+2 (With English) or equivalent.
  OR
• Pass with 50% aggregate marks* in 10+2 (With English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST* or UCEED or NIFT Entrance Exam or NIFT B.FTech or NID DAT.
• For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium or an equivalent subject.

LPU MDes Eligibility Criteria 2025

Aspirants should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in 4 Years Bachelor's Degree with Design or Fine Arts or Applied Arts or B. Arch. or B. Plan. or B. Construction Management or B.Tech. (Any Stream) or Allied fields or equivalent.

LPU Admission Process 2025

Candidates can appear in LPUNEST 2025 to get admission in various courses at Lovely professional university. However, candidates having a valid score in design entrance exams can apply for LPU design admissions. Candidates need to meet the basic eligibility criteria and qualify for the entrance exam with merit to get admission to LPU design admission 2025. Registration: Candidates need to register themselves on the official website of LPU i.e lpu.in. Register into 'LPU ADMIT 'with personal details with an active email ID. The authority will send a mail to the registered email id. Candidate’s email id will be the username. Candidates can set a strong password

Apply LPUNEST (Entrance exam and scholarship Test): Candidates have to fill the application form along with the fee deposition. The application form fee and softcopy of LPUNEST kit is Rs 500 for girls and Rs 1000 for boys.

Book exam slot and appear: Candidates to book the exam slot to appear in LPUNEST exam. Candidates can appear for test centre based exams or remotely protected online exams. Students can choose any of the two options.

Result and Seat Allotment: Candidates need to download the results from the LPU official website. After getting the score or rank, candidates need to fill the seat preference. Authority will allocate each candidate a particular preference number on the basis of seat availability. Students have to download the allotment letter for further admission process.

Final step to Admission: Students need to deposit initial payment of Rs 15,000. After successful payment, authority will send a provisional registration number on registered email Id. Upload all the mandatory documents on the student portal with student ID.

How to register for LPU Design admission?

Candidates should read the important instructions before applying for LPU application form 2025. Here are some steps for how to apply for the LPUNEST Entrance test.

• Applicants have to sign up or LPUNEST by visiting the official website of LPU i.e lpu.in.

• Applicants have to register onto LPU ADMIT with basic details such as name, email id, mobile number, state, gender.

• Applicant’s email id will be their username. Next applicants need to set a strong password while registering on the portal.

• Now, applicants can login to the LPU ADMIT with already created username and password.

• With the help of username and password, candidates can apply for LPUNEST (Eligibilty and scholarship test)

• Deposit the application form fee and LPUNEST kit fee i.e Rs 500 for girls and Rs 1000 for boys. If candidates want printed LPUNEST kit, Rs 500 will increase for both boys and girls

• Complete the test application form.

• Applicants can book the slot of exam as per their availability.

• Finally, applicants can appear in the exam and qualify.

LPU BDes Entrance Exam Pattern 2025

The duration of the test is 150 minutes (2 hrs 30 min). The LPUNEST exam pattern is divided into two parts which consist of 60 objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) which is for 90 minutes and 1 subjective question which is for 60 minutes. Maximum marks are 100. Here is the detailed description about division of subjects, no of questions allotted in respective sections, marks per question and maximum marks per subject.

There are three sections which students need to prepare for LPUNEST entrance exam.

General Ability Test (GAT): This section examines the basic numerical ability along with logical reasoning of the students.

• Quantitative Aptitude and Analytical Reasoning includes :

  Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion, Distance, etc.

  Assertion and reason, Syllogism, Seating arrangement, Ranking and time sequence test, Blood relations, Direction sense test, Conditions and grouping, Simple and coded inequality.

• Communication ability and English comprehension: Synonyms, Antonyms, Words with corresponding meanings, Singular, Plural, One-word substitutes, Idioms and phrases, Correct spellings, Comprehend a situation from a given passage etc.
• General knowledge and current affairs: This section covers Indian History, Indian Politics, Indian Economy, Financial and Economic News, Budget and National Plan, Who is Who, Sports Events, Books and Authors, Awards and Honours, Science Invention and Discoveries, Abbreviations, Important Days and Weeks, International and National Organizations, Current National and International Affairs.

Design Thinking: In this section, students are tested on the basis of visualisation and spatial ability, observation and design sensitivity, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language and creativity, and design thinking and problem solving.

• Visualization and Spatial Ability
  Pictorial and diagrammatic questions to test, understanding of transformation and/or manipulation of 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships, knowledge of practical and everyday mechanical and scientific concepts.
• Observation and Design Sensitivity
  Ability to detect concealed properties in ordinary things, people, situations, and events, and think critically about them. Applying attention to certain details, analysing, reasoning, classifying, inferring and predicting. Ability to discern subtle differences in visual properties and aesthetic outcomes.
• Environmental and Social Awareness
  General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources etc., and their implications on the design of products, images, infrastructure and environment. Awareness of social and cultural connection with the design, history of the designed artefact, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses. History of art, sculpture and literature.
• Analytical and Logical Reasoning
  Ability to look at information, be it qualitative or quantitative in nature, and discern patterns within the information. Ability to weigh opinions, arguments or solutions against appropriate criteria. Ability to check for hidden bias or hidden assumptions and whether evidence and argument support conclusions. Ability to use logic and structured thinking to deduce from a short passage, which of a number of statements is the most accurate response to a posed question. Data Interpretation, brainteasers, and patterns.
• Language and Creativity
  Ability to understand and use Standard English. Reading comprehension, knowledge of English grammar. Ability to think creatively in terms of alternatives, ability to distinguish innovative options and think out of the box.
• Design Thinking and Problem Solving
  Ability to use visual analogies, metaphors, signs and symbols. Ability to understand complexity, identify problems, generate alternatives, evaluate options and select solutions.

Creative Ability Test (CAT): This test is administered to judge the skill, power of observation, sense of composition, creativity, diversity of ideas and design ability of the candidate. It is conducted for understanding and knowing the creative quotient of the student. The mind level and the conceptualization along with required technical skills for the concerned program will be gauged through this.

LPU Design Result 2025

LPUNEST entrance exam 2025 will be conducted in multiple phases. After each schedule, the university will release the scores obtained by the students along with a list of the rank secured by the students. Students will get the scholarship on the basis of the rank secured.
