National Institute of Design (NID) declared the BDes DAT Mains result 2025 on May 16 at 4 PM. Candidates can download their BDes DAT Mains result using their login credentials such as email address and date of birth. The B.Des DAT Mains result rechecking window will be open till May 17, 2025 up to 4 PM. BDes candidates must submit their institute campus preference by May 19 up to 5 PM. The authorities declared the NID DAT result 2025 prelims for BDes on April 1 and for MDes on February 17. The NID DAT Mains exam date 2025 are available at the official website. What after NID DAT results 2025?
Based on the marks obtained in DAT Prelims, the authorities will release the NID DAT merit list. Students who will be listed in merit list, will go ahead on to the next stage of NID DAT mains. A separate NID admit card for mains was issued by the authority for the successful candidates. After mains, the authority will release a final merit list. The successful candidates will be allotted preferred course and college according to the rank secured. The number of seats will be equivalent to the number of seats available.
The expected NID cut off BDes based on previous year records is 50 for General or EWS, 45 for OBC, 40 for SC/ST/PwD. The candidates who qualified prelims had appeared for Mains. The NID Mains exam comprised of studio test (40%) and Interview (30%). This section assessed the candidate’s presence of mind in certain situations. It tested candidate’s skill and knowledge.

Minimum qualifying criteria for the final result: According to the official website, under exceptional unforeseen circumstances, the NIDs shall reserve the right to reduce, modify, or waive off minimum qualifying criteria.

NID DAT Counselling and Seat Allotment 2025
Aspirants who qualified both prelims and mains will have to next participate in the NID 2025 counselling process. During the NID DAT counselling registration, candidates will have to submit their preferred course and institute. NID Seat allotment for final admissions will be based on merit list, category of the candidates, and availability of seats. Moreover, all seat allotment candidates will have to confirm their seat by making a payment of non-refundable token fee and uploading of documents before the deadline. Aspirants failing to upload documents before the last date even after making a payment of NID fees, the allotted seat will be cancelled.

No, IPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University) does not accept NID DAT Prelims score for admission to the B.Des (Bachelor of Design) program.
Instead, IPU conducts its own entrance test or may consider CUET (UG) scores for B.Des admissions, depending on the latest admission guidelines. Always refer to the university's official prospectus for the year you're applying to for the final admission criteria.
