National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) being one of the most difficult entrance exams for design demands proper time and preparation. Therefore a proper study plan is needed with proper exam strategy for NIFT 2025. The NIFT exam has two papers: GAT and CAT. The GAT is mandatory for all courses and is conducted on a computer. NIFT Exam will be conducted on February, 9th, 2025. Here are some important Do’s and Don’ts for aspiring students to follow in their NIFT 2025 preparation.
NIFT 2025: Preparation Guide | Mock Tests- B.Des | BFTech | Most Important Topics
Latest: NIFT 2024 Question Paper with Solutions
Don't Miss: NIFT Study Material- Quantitative | Analytical | Communication
Aspiring students need to go through the NIFT 2025 exam pattern and understand the weightage of each section.
Candidates are advised to go through the NIFT Exam syllabus and understand different sections of the NIFT 2025 Exam as it would help to map the strengths and weaknesses of the aspirant.
Students can solve NIFT 2025 sample papers to get accustomed to the exam. Students can go through the questions from papers they had difficulty in solving the first time and create a study plan accordingly.
Solve NIFT 2025 mock tests as it not only helps in preparation but also boosts your confidence and helps with the exam anxiety.
One of the most important sections in the NIFT Entrance Exam include preparation for NIFT CAT 2025 (Creative Ability Test) . Regular practice for sketching, drawing, and ideation will help students prepare for the section.
Do not take revision lightly. Students often forget to focus on revision and be overconfidents on preparation. A focused revision is one of the most helpful ways to prepare for the exam.
Students need to keep all necessary documents (admit card, ID proof, etc.) ready. Note the exam date, time, and venue in advance.
Remember to read instructions and questions carefully before starting the exam. Remember to not panic and make mindless mistakes.
Be creative and innovative with the solutions. Focus on originality and unique approaches. Make sure your responses are clear and well-structured for the written sections.
Properly allocate time to each section in the exam. Students need to avoid spending too much time on one question. Do not panic if any questions appear as complex or difficult, move on to the next question and revisit it later if time permits.
Some students ignore official syllabus and only rely on third-party notes without cross-checking the official instructions. You may miss topics that hold high weightages for the NIFT Exam.
Avoid Procrastination: Don’t leave revision or portfolio preparation or study sections for the last minute.
Students relying solely on theoretical knowledge without practicing creative and sketching questions can be a mistake as these sections need daily hands on practice to master and therefore score high.
Ignoring the NIFT Exam Syllabus and not preparing accordingly can also be one of the major mistakes students can make. Students should make sure they are aware of all the significant subjects and questions that can be asked in each area.
Don’t avoid practicing daily for topics for NIFT GAT 2025 (General Aptitude Test) in quantitative aptitude, problem-solving, and general knowledge.
Stressing over difficult complex questions can waste valuable time in the exam and affect overall performance. Hasty answers can also lead to careless mistakes. Therefore stress and panic are advised to ignore at the time of the exam.
Students also need to ensure that all the creative answers are authentic and not copied. Plagiarism can be very important.
Presentations of solutions should not be disorganized as it may leave a poor impression and lower your chances.
Don’t Leave Questions Unanswered: Attempt every question, even if you're not sure. Partial creativity is preferable to leaving a design-based question blank.
Burnout and anxiety can hurt your performance in the exam more than lack of revision, therefore it is important for students to keep calm and focus on wellbeing.
