The National Institute of Design (NID) declared the NID BDes Prelims 2025 result on April 1 at admissions.nid.edu. Candidates can download their NID BDes Prelims result 2025 from the official website. To download the B.Des. DAT Prelims result 2025, candidates must log in using their login credentials such as email address and date of birth. Continue reading to know more about the next steps after NID BDes Prelims.

After the declaration of the NID BDes Prelims result 2025, the shortlisted candidates must prepare for NID DAT Mains 2025. Depending on the score obtained in the DAT Prelims, the eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the DAT Mains based on merit. The BDes DAT Mains Studio test will be conducted on May 3, 2025. The studio test will be conducted at the following campuses: NID Ahmedabad, NID Bengaluru, NID Andhra Pradesh, NID Haryana, NID Madhya Pradesh, and NID Jorhat.
The shortlisted candidates will be provided with an interface at admissions.nid.edu to choose a test centre of their choice between April 3, 2025, 4 PM to April 6, by 4 PM. The candidates must log in using their credentials. The exact timings of the studio test and the address of the test centre will be provided in the admit card.
The NID DAT Mains test centre must be selected by the candidates only. The qualified candidates must keep in mind that the allotment of the DAT Mains test centre will be based on first-cum-first serve basis. Once the candidate has submitted, the change in the test centre will not be done. Candidates who fail to submit their test centre preference will be allotted the test centre automatically by the system depending on the number of seats available at the test centres. The discretion to allot any of the test centres rests with the NID Ahmedabad Admissions Cell.

Candidates can check below the mentioned important steps to follow after NID BDes Prelims:
The shortlisted candidates must appear for the Studio Test to be eligible for the final stage of admissions.
Under any circumstances, rescheduling of the Studio Test or change in the test centre will not be entertained.
The shortlisted candidates can download their admit cards for the studio test on April 11, 2025 from 4 PM onwards.
Candidates must download and take a printout of the admit card of the studio test.
Candidates must carry the hard copy of the admit card along with the original photo ID proofs as mentioned in the studio test admit card.
Only the entry of the candidates will be allowed into the examination centre.
After the registration time, candidates will not be allowed into the examination centre.
Candidates must regularly check for updates on the admissions website - admissions.nid.edu.

Yes, if you are in Class 12, you are eligible to sit for the NID DAT 2026 (BDes) exam. The National Institute of Design allows students who are in their final year of Class 12 or have already passed to apply.

Yes you are eligible to appear for NID DAT for the M.Des programme. Since you are in final make sure you will have completed your BA by the required deadline. Also go through the specific specializations you want to apply for, some may require certain specific backgrounds to be eligible to apply for them. Understand the pattern – focus on creativity, design aptitude, and problem-solving.
Practice sketching daily and improve visualization.

Stay consistent and observe everyday designs for new ideas.

As 563 rank in nid dat exam cannot guarantee admission in designing college but it could be a good chance to explore some campus as if you are not from general category as category role plays an important role . But now you can do one thing focus on your strengthening your protofile or preparing for the studio test (bdes) or interview (mdes).
