The question “What is NIFT situation test?” often arises among aspiring fashion students. The NIFT situation test is a practical examination conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) for candidates who have cleared the written entrance exam. This 2-hour test is designed to evaluate a candidate’s creativity, innovation, and material handling skills under a time constraint. The test involves creating a model using a given set of materials within the specified time. It forms a significant part of the selection process for B.Des courses at NIFT and is conducted offline at the designated NIFT Campus. Candidates who successfully clear the written exam (CAT and GAT) of the NIFT Entrance Exam are eligible to appear for this situation test.
NIFT Situation Test models consist of three tiered processes that require students to draw either a product, Space, or Place. Candidates have to select any one question and complete it within two hours using the provided material. Moreover, candidates also have to do a write-up that explains their 3D model, its technique, its inspiration, title, practicality, and so on.
