National Institute of Fashion Technology offers three postgraduate courses - MDes, MFTech and MFM. To get admission to NIFT PG courses, candidates are required to appear and qualify the NIFT entrance exam. The authorities declared the NIFT entrance exam Stage 1 result 2025 at exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/. Candidates can download their NIFT 2025 scorecard using application number and date of birth. The NIFT entrance exam for PG courses was conducted on February 9, 2025.
However, for NIFT MDes and MFM, aspirants have to appear for both CAT and GAT, while for MFTech, only GAT is held. For most of the NIFT master's courses eligibility is that the aspirants need to have an under-graduation degree. NIFT exam eligibility criteria is available at nift.ac.in. The students who want to join the National Institute of Fashion Technology must apply for the NIFT entrance exam 2025 conducted by NTA. This entrance examination is conducted every year to select the best students across the country for master’s programmes at NIFT campuses. The students must apply for the NIFT PG Courses entrance exam which are different for all the 3 specialisations.
The NIFT PG Courses entrance exam for Master of Design Course includes CAT and GAT exam at first step. The students are tested based on their creative ability test which judges their drawing skills and creativity. The general ability test is directed more towards understanding the design aptitude, current affair knowledge, English knowledge, quantitative ability etc. The students who qualified both these papers need to sit for a personal interview round conducted in the NIFT campuses in India. The nationwide Institute of Fashion Technology offers a nationwide entrance exam called NIFT for admission to its fashion design programmes.
Every course has specific requirements that must be met in order to apply. For NIFT, there is no minimum age requirement, however it is evident that passing the 10+2 exam is a requirement in order to be admitted to any undergraduate programme in fashion design.
You cannot be admitted because you are in class eleven. However, you can apply to NIFT for experience and practice, and if your application is accepted, you can take the entrance exam. If you pass, however, be aware that you will not be able to retain your results for admission.
