The programme is affiliated to the Bengaluru North University recognized by the UGC and established under the Army Welfare Education Committee (AWES). The AIFD admission programme previously conducted admissions through a written admission test. But that process has been replaced in favour of admitting students on the basis of merit earned in their Class 10 and 12 grades.
