Ritika: My name is Ritika, and I am a design student from the School of Design at Manav Rachna. I am passionate about creativity and enjoy learning through hands-on design projects and college activities.
I chose Manav Rachna as my alma mater because of its strong focus on design education, industry-oriented learning, and supportive faculty. The School of Design provides a creative environment where students are encouraged to experiment, think innovatively, and build real-world skills. Careers360: How would you describe the overall academic atmosphere on campus?
Ritika: The overall academic atmosphere on campus is positive, disciplined, and encouraging. As a student, I feel supported by experienced and approachable faculty who are always ready to guide us. The campus promotes a healthy balance between academics and practical learning through workshops, projects, and interactive sessions. This environment motivates students to stay focused, explore their interests, and continuously improve their skills.
Careers360: Do you find the library, labs, and digital resources sufficient for your academic needs?
Ritika: Yes, I find the library, labs, and digital resources sufficient for my academic needs. Manav Rachna has two well-equipped libraries—Dr. O.P. Bhalla Library and Swami Vivekanand Library—which have a wide collection of books covering various fields of study. The labs support practical learning, and the digital resources help us with research and assignments, making learning more effective overall.
Careers360: How approachable and supportive are the faculty members outside the classroom?
Ritika: The faculty members are very approachable and supportive even outside the classroom. We also have dedicated mentors for students, with regular mentor–mentee sessions where we can openly discuss academic as well as personal concerns. These sessions create a comfortable and supportive environment, and the faculty and mentors always guide us patiently and encourage us to do better.
Careers360: Are there opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, research, or innovation?
Ritika: The campus offers good opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, research, and innovation. As a student, I get chances to collaborate with students from different departments through workshops, projects, and events. We also have open elective courses across the university, which allow us to explore subjects beyond our core discipline. This exposure helps us gain new perspectives, encourages innovative thinking, and prepares us for real-world challenges.
Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies at the campus and how significant are they from your point of view or students point of view?
Ritika: There are several student clubs and committees on campus that are very active and engaging. Cultural, design, technical, and social clubs regularly organize events, workshops, competitions, and activities. All the clubs also collaborate during fests and special occasions, which creates a vibrant campus atmosphere. This collaborative culture helps students showcase their talents, work as a team, and develop leadership and communication skills.
Careers360: What activities are offered in the institute?
Ritika: Cultural fests, sports meets, and social activities are held regularly at Manav Rachna, and they create a lively and energetic campus environment. As a student, participating in these events is a great experience because they help us take a break from academics, showcase our talents, and build teamwork and confidence. These activities also bring students from different departments together, making campus life enjoyable and memorable.
Careers360: Do you have a favourite spot on campus? If so, what is it, and why does it stand out to you?
Ritika: My favourite spots on campus are the common student areas, open grounds, and various food points where we can relax and spend time with friends. I also enjoy the sports arena, where we can play indoor games and stay active. These places are perfect for unwinding, discussing projects, and socializing, making campus life enjoyable, lively, and engaging.
Careers360: How effective is the career services/placement cell in guiding and preparing students?
Ritika: The career services and placement cell at Manav Rachna are very effective in guiding and preparing students for their careers. They provide workshops, training sessions, and mock interviews to improve our skills and confidence. The team also offers personalised guidance, career counselling, and connects us with industry opportunities, which helps students plan their future and successfully pursue placements or higher studies.
Careers360: What challenges do you face in balancing academics with extracurricular activities?
Ritika: Balancing academics with extracurricular activities can be challenging because both require time, focus, and effort. While academics demand consistent study and project work, extracurriculars like clubs, sports, or fests also take up time and energy. Managing deadlines, priorities, and commitments can sometimes be tough, but it also teaches us time management, discipline, and how to stay organised while making the most of campus life.
Careers360: Are there any suggestions/improvements you would like to see to make campus life better?
Ritika: Campus life at Manav Rachna is already very engaging, but a few improvements could make it even better. For example, increasing the variety of workshops and skill-based sessions, adding more recreational or creative spaces, and organising more inter-departmental events could enhance student engagement. Providing more flexible timings for labs and libraries and improving digital resources would also help students balance academics and activities more effectively. Overall, small additions like these can make campus life even more enjoyable and productive.
Careers360: What is one memory from your time at the college that you think you’ll cherish the most after you graduate?
Ritika: One of my favourite memories from college is organising a college fest with other students. It was amazing to collaborate with friends from different departments, plan events, and manage everything together. Seeing everyone come together to make the fest successful was a great experience. The star night of the fest was the cherry on top—it was exciting, full of energy, and a moment that made all our hard work feel truly rewarding.
Careers360: Would you recommend this campus to future students? Please state your reasons.
Ritika: I would definitely recommend Manav Rachna to future students because it offers a strong academic environment, supportive faculty, and excellent opportunities for overall growth. The campus encourages creativity, practical learning, and student engagement through clubs, fests, and workshops. With good infrastructure, libraries, labs, and career support, it helps students grow academically, professionally, and personally. Overall, it’s a place where students can learn, explore, and thrive.
