got 18.9 in iit jam biotechnology, any chances of getting a seat in IISC or in other institutes, I belong to Sc category.

lubhan cherwoo 21st Feb, 2020
With 18.9 marks in IIT JAM biotechnology from SC category you have a very skim chance of qualifying for any of the top University is in India as cutoff for Biotechnology are quite high. It would be difficult to evaluate the rank from the marks you have provided, but looking at the previous year trends you crossed the cutoff for passing iit jam biotechnology( cutoff for iit jam Biotechnology for sc category are around 12), so I would suggest you to wait for the actual result

Hello, if I get 500-550 marks in Neet 2020,Can I get a seat in MBBS In uttar pradesh under state quota.. for general category

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 21st Feb, 2020

Syed, in 2018 under State Quota, 469 marks secured a seat in Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya under General Category. By 2019, the cut offs increased and 575 was the cut off for General Category. These marks secured a seat in Bahraich Medical College under General Category. That was almost an increase in cut offs by 96 marks. This shows that cut offs change every year. Cut offs change ever year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. Now considering all these factors, 500-550 might get you a seat in Private Medical Colleges in mop up round but this score might be tad less for seat in GMC or either in Round 1 or Round 2. If you want a seat in a GMC, you will have to target atleast 600 as UP has become one of those States with higher cut offs. You can check college wise cut offs at: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-up . For any guidance during counselling, you can use our MBBS companion: https://www.careers360.com/mbbs-companion

I got 90.87 percentile in jEE main. 2020 is there any chance of getting seat in nit IIIT under EWS catogery

lubhan cherwoo 21st Feb, 2020
Hello,
as mentioned according to your percentile in JEE mains 2020 January, it is difficult to answer the actual cutoff rate because the cutoff rate for 2020 will be released after the second JEE main attempt.
I will say that getting anywhere above 85 puts you at a fair chance of clearing JEE mains evaluating form last year's cutoff for GEN-EWS the cutoff for NITs and IIITs varies college to college and stream to stream.
Generally speaking according to me a candidate from GEN-EWS category should get a rank above 30000 ie above 96.5 percentile to comfortably get into NITs and IIITs
