Exam-Wise Scholarship Criteria 2026 for Design Aspirants

In this section, let’s try to understand the scholarship criteria for various design entrance exams. The amount of scholarship can vary. Some design scholarships also offer upto 100% fee waiver.

NIFT Scholarship Criteria - NIFT Entrance Exam

The admissions into NIFT campuses are done through the NIFT entrance exam. Students can avail the following scholarships at NIFT

“SARTHAK” NIFT Financial Assistance Scheme

The objective of this scholarship is to esnure that any deserving student is not deprived of education due to financial constraints. This scheme is primarily designed for students from economically weaker sections.

“UDAAN” NIFT Scholarship Scheme for Foreign Studies

This scholarship provides financial assistance to pursue foreign studies. Regular students from economically weaker sections who fulfil the eligibility criteria for SARTHAK can also avail the benefit under the UDAAN scheme.

National Scholarship

SC/ST students can avail of the national scholarship through the National Scholarship portal. All the NIFT campuses are registered on the portal.

NID Scholarships Criteria - NID DAT Entrance Exam

The admission to NID campuses are done based on the NID DAT entrance exam. The details of the scholarship at NID are given below.

NID Scholarship for New Admission Design Students

This scholarship of Rs 50000 is granted to the open category candidate who has the highest rank in the NID selection process provided the rank is above 60.

NID Scholarship for Second Year Students

The students who got the first and second rank during the first year of their course will get a scholarship of Rs 50000 and Rs 30000 respectively.

Another NID scholarship available for second year students is the merit cum means scholarship. A student who ranks within the top 25% of the whole batch during the first year of study and also fulfils EWS eligibility criteria will be awarded a scholarship of Rs 30000.

NID Scholarship for Third Year and Fourth Year Students

Students who get the highest AGPA in each discipline in the third and fourth year will get a scholarship of Rs 50000. The AGPA should be 8 and above.

Another scholarship is the grant of Rs 30000 that is available to students who fulfil the criteria for EWS and have been ranked among the top 25% of the batch. This is the same scholarship which is available for first and second year students as well.

Pearl Academy Scholarship Criteria - Pearl Academy Entrance Exam

Pearl Academy offers design scholarships based on the performance in the Pearl Academy entrance exam as well as the NIFT entrance exam.

Pearl Academy NIFT Rank Based Scholarship

This scholarship is only applicable for the semester fee in the first academic year. The scholarship criteria is given below

• Completed 10+2 or equivalent for bachelor’s programme.

• Appear for and qualify the Pearl Academy entrance exam, where applicable.

• Have qualified in the NIFT Entrance Examination and secure a rank between 1 and 1000

  
  

BITS Design School Scholarship Criteria - BITS Design Aptitude Test

The BITS Design School conducts BITS DAT for its admissions. The institute also scores in UCEED and NID DAT. The details of the scholarship criteria are given below-

• BITS DES Merit and Means-Based Scholarship

Candidates whose annual family income is not more than Rs 18 lakhs are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship offers up to 75% waiver of the tuition fee for each year of the B.Des programme. Candidates will be evaluated based on their performance in the entrance exam, past academic record, co-curricular activities, and portfolio.

• BITS DES Academic Merit Scholarship

The scholarship is offered to students who show excellent promise in design. Under this scholarship students can get a tuition fee waiver of upto 75% in each year of the programme.The students will be evaluated based on their performance in the entrance exam, past academic performance, co-curricular activities and portfolio.

• BITS DES Chancellor’s Scholarship

It is the most prestigious scholarship at BITS Design School which is awarded to students who show very high potential. Under this scholarship, the students can get a 100% tuition fee waiver. Other benefits under the scheme include a chance to meet the chancellor, a 1-2 week fully paid international trip to one of the major fashion weeks, and an internship opportunity in the third year.

Anant University Design Scholarship Criteria - ADEPT

Anant National University conducts the ADEPT entrance exam for its design admissions.However, the university also offers scholarships based on the ranks in NID DAT/ UCEED and NIFT entrance exams. The details are given below.

Parul University Scholarship Criteria - PU DAT Entrance Exam

Parul University offers fee waiver to B.Des students for the first two years of the course based on their percentile obtained in the Parul University DAT entrance exam. In addition, to PU DAT, candidates with good scores in NIFT/ NID DAT/UCEED can also obtain 75-100% scholarship.

Woxsen University Scholarship - Woxen Design Test

Woxsen University conducts the Woxen Design Test for its design admissions. Candidates who have a valid composite score based on the marks in the entrance exam and interview can apply for scholarship at the university. Shortlisted students will be eligible for merit-based scholarship based on their performance in Woxsen DAT and past academic achievements. The selected students can also apply for an additional 10% merit-based scholarship apart from the regular scholarship.
