The National Testing Agency (NTA) is facing repeated allegations of mismanagement in conducting the entrance exams. First, it was NEET UG 2026, where the question paper leaked. Now it is NIFTEE 2026, where students have alleged irregularities in the declaration of the NIFT result. NTA had declared the NIFT 2026 final result on June 3 based on performance in stages 1 and 2 of the exam.
NTA is the conducting body for several entrance exams for UG and PG admissions across the country. Some other popular exams conducted by it include the CUET UG, CUET PG, NCHMCT JEE, and UGC NET, among others. With so many exams under its umbrella, NTA has a big task of ensuring the smooth conduct of these exams in a timely manner.
In signs of growing trouble for NTA, several students have taken to Reddit to point out discrepancies in the NIFT 2026 final result. The complaints range from students getting marked absent when they were present to absent students getting marks for a test they did not attend. Some students have also pointed out irregularities in the biometric attendance system put in place at the NIFT exam centres. However, these claims are yet to be verified, and NTA is yet to issue any response.

These complaints assume even more significance when seen in the light of recent controversies and protests being organised across the country demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister.
The NEET UG 2026, first conducted on May 3, was cancelled after reports of question paper leak surfaced. NTA will now conduct the NEET re-exam on June 21, 2026, from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. The government has announced several measures, such as taking the NEET online from next year to avoid a repeat of such cases. Meanwhile, several state governments in Punjab, Delhi, and Odisha have announced free bus rides for students on June 21 to attend the exam.
