Question 1: List out the events that helped you in choosing fashion designer as a career?

Answer: My interest in fashion began at an early age. I have always wanted to become a fashion designer. I remember that I used to read fashion magazines and try it on my parent’s clothes to make different styles of outfits. I have done my formal education in fashion and gained experience and knowledge that was needed to craft trendy designs.

Question 2: According to you what is the best part about being a fashion designer?

Answer: The best part about being a fashion designer is that I have the freedom to do my creations. As I have to follow industry trends and make sure my designs match the industry standards as well, I also have the opportunity to try new things.

Question 3: What did you learn during your internship as a fashion designer?

Answer: I am grateful that I had an opportunity to work with one of the best fashion-leading houses in India. I took advantage of the opportunity and learnt about the fashion trends and fundamentals of design. I also got the opportunity to learn the tools &technology that are used in the fashion industry and how I can use them at my best.

Question 4: Are you comfortable working with the models and staff in the fashion industry?

Answer: Yes, I am comfortable working with the models and other staff members within the industry. I believe that it is a team effort and collaboration that is needed to produce a good design. The models and other members of the team play an important role in bringing the designs to life and to the market.

Question 5: According to you, what moral values are important for people in the fashion industry?

Answer: According to me, the most important moral ethics is honesty. It is the job of fashion designers to create unique designs and be innovative. Copying and duplicating somebody else’s style or using their design is completely unethical.

Question 6: What are your hobbies related to the fashion industry?

Answer: I have liked to draw patterns since my childhood and later this hobby has become a passion. This is the reason why I chose to pursue a career as a fashion designer.

Question 7: How can you handle completing the priority design tasks within the team?

Answer: By having an open conversation and understanding the team’s strengths and weaknesses. Regularly taking up meetings to follow-up with the team will help in staying updated about the task and align with the design goals by resolving problems.

Question 8: How will you stay inspired and maintain creativity for a long period?

Answer: I stay inspired by travelling, exploring and collaborating with the other creatives. Taking breaks will help in preventing burnout by having a sustainable and enduring creative mindset.

Question 9: What innovative trends did you work on during your experience?

Answer: I had used technology like 3D printing which was the turning point in my career. This relates to the values and expectations within the industry. Showing commitment towards innovation and design.

Question 10: What are your favourite fashion trends in the past or present?

Answer: I like the designs from the past, where clean designs and simple symmetry were done on clothes. These types of designs are reflected in my work, even I add some more elements to it by keeping today’s current trends in mind. Today’s fashion sense carries a legacy and unique personality.

The nationwide Institute of Fashion Technology offers a nationwide entrance exam called NIFT for admission to its fashion design programmes.

Every course has specific requirements that must be met in order to apply. For NIFT, there is no minimum age requirement, however it is evident that passing the 10+2 exam is a requirement in order to be admitted to any undergraduate programme in fashion design.


You cannot be admitted because you are in class eleven. However, you can apply to NIFT for experience and practice, and if your application is accepted, you can take the entrance exam. If you pass, however, be aware that you will not be able to retain your results for admission.

Yes, you can appear for the NIFT 2024 exam even if your 12th board exams are scheduled after the NIFT exam. NIFT allows students to take the exam as long as they are in their final year of school education. If you qualify for the exam, you can submit your 12th-grade results after your board exams. Just ensure you meet the eligibility criteria, and provide your 12th marks once the results are declared.
