    The NID B.Des prelims result has been declared on April 2, 2026. Shortlisted candidates from the NID result will qualify to appear in the mains exam. As per the revised NID selection process, the candidate’s score in the prelims component of the NID entrance exam will not be carried forward into the mains.     The National Institute of Design earlier conducted NID DAT 2026 prelims on December 21, 2025, at designated centres across India. Candidates have to appear and qualify for both components of the exam to secure NID admission.

    How Many Students Will Qualify for NID 2026 BDes Mains?

    The number of candidates who qualify for NID BDes mains will be 1.5 times the number of seats available under each category. The total number of seats for NID BDes is 439. It is expected that around 658 candidates will qualify for the NID BDes 2026 mains exam
