Students can find memory based questions with answers for NID Studio Test 2026 below:
Question 1: Tactile Observation & Analysis Time: 60 Minutes | Marks: 30

Instructions : In a black bag containing a hidden object will be placed in front of you. You are required to insert your hand into the bag to feel and examine the object entirely by touch; the object must not be removed from the bag at any point while experiencing. You are given one continuous observation window of 10 minutes, Once your hand is withdrawn, no further observation will be permitted.
Question 2:
Part A : Proportional Drawing (06 Marks)
Draw the object as accurately as possible, maintaining its actual proportions based solely on your tactile observation.
Solution:
Based on the tactile experience the identified object in the bag is a combination of multiple objects tied in a jute rope.

Part B : Sound Exploration (12 Marks)
Without altering the object's configuration meaning without dismantling, detaching, or rearranging any of its parts, identify three distinct ways to produce different sounds from it. For each method provide a clear illustration drawing demonstrating the action.
Solution:
Producing Sound by Centrifugal Force : By rotating the combination at high speed the objects in the rope due to centrifugal force and air friction would cause a humming sound as being rotated shown above in the sketch.

Part C: Component Breakdown (12 Marks)
Draw each individual part of the object separately. For every component, indicate the details with clear annotation, approximate dimensions and the material it seems to be made up of.
Solution:
Producing sound through tension force : By suddenly stretching the rope with all the elements will send all the objects whirling and thus creating the sound.

Question 3: Personal Reflection & Written Expression Time: 30 Minutes | Marks: 10
Write a personal account addressing all three points below:
Describe an incident from your own life when you felt completely stuck in a situation where you seemed to have no apparent way forward and felt helpless to act.
Solution:
The Incident: I decided to teach myself advanced video editing to tell stories about my village for my new channel on social media. I spent three days watching tutorials on various topics like “ Color Grading” , “Timeline Layers” but on real implementation the results were not as expected. I wished to make a simple cut, but there were several buttons and sub-setting in technical terminology. I felt totally withdrawn sitting in front of my laptop at night, feeling failed at the commitment I made to myself with big dreams.
The Emotions: I felt stupid and overwhelmed failing in the maiden attempt where I was driven by passion and motivation initially. I am a person who is the one stop solution for all ‘unfixed’ to all my friends and colleagues. Being in this state I felt exhausted and seriously looked for a mentor or a companion who could help me in the situation, where I was shouting in the void and no-one could hear me fainting.
The Turning Point: My turning point was a simple idea from one of the creators I followed online, who spoke in native language. He was explaining the tools and techniques in a layman’s language. He used references like "comparing the timeline with clothesline” where you hang pictures, videos and text. I followed his techniques and rather focusing on each button, dragged and dropped small video clips in the right order successfully forwarding towards my first project.
Question 4: Model Making Time: 60 Minutes | Marks: 30
Brief : Design and construct a full-scale (1:1) bird feeder that can either be hung or placed on a surface. It must accommodate both food and water for small birds such as sparrows.
Materials Provided:
1 pc X ivory sheet (A4)
1pc X normal paper (70 gsm, A4 size)
4pc X Binder clips
1 piece of cloth
1 wire ( 50-60 cm )
1 thread
Design Constraints:
Any cutting tool like paper cutter or scissor is not allowed
Any adhesive, stapler or similar objects is not allowed
Using any other material beyond the given will lead to disqualification
Below is the proposed sketch of the solution for the “Bird-Feeder” with the compartments for the food and water separately using the given materials within the constraints like not using the adhesive, paper cutter.
Solution:
The primary technique used is the paper folded, and held using the binder lips. The handle for the feeder is made using the wire and tread being used to tie the paper as per the need.

Tentative Construct of the bird feeder to hold the water and Grains
As per the NID 2026 Exam Pattern, NID DAT prelims will be a qualifying test and does not carry any marks for final evaluation. Therefore, the final verdict on the admissions will be based on the NID Studio test and Interview.
