Aspiring students need to go through some Do’s and Dont’s for the exam to help them prepare and score effectively. Read the complete article curated for candidates to get these Do’s and Dont’s for Pearl Academy Exam .
Aspiring students need to go through the Pearl Academy exam pattern and understand the weightage of each section. Pearl Academy includes sections on:
General Proficiency Test (GPT): logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, data interpretation, and English language proficiency.
Design Aptitude Test (DAT): communication and sketching skills, observation and imagination, creativity, and a strong design sense for a given problem.
Personal Interview and Portfolio Assessment
Students can solve sample papers or Pearl Academy entrance exam previous years' question papers to get accustomed to the time constraints. Students can go through the questions from papers they had difficulty in solving the first time and create a study plan accordingly.
One of the most important sections in the Pearl Academy Entrance Exam include preparation for the creative section. Regular practice for sketching, drawing, and ideation will help students prepare for the section.
Students need to keep all necessary documents (admit card, ID proof, etc.) ready. Note the exam date, time, and venue in advance.
Remember to read instructions and questions carefully before starting the exam. Remember to not panic and make mindless mistakes.
Be creative and innovative with the solutions. Focus on originality and unique approaches. Make sure your responses are clear and well-structured for the written sections.
Mock Tests: Take online mock tests or practice exams to assess your preparation level and get accustomed to the online exam interface (if applicable). This will help you in pacing yourself better during the actual exam.
Portfolio Preparation: If your course requires a portfolio (like for design courses), ensure it is well-curated, organized, and showcases your best work. Make sure your portfolio is presented neatly and aligns with the course you are applying for.
Properly allocate time to each section in the exam. Students need to avoid spending too much time on one question. Do not panic if any questions appear as complex or difficult, move on to the next question and revisit it later if time permits.
Avoid Procrastination: Don’t leave revision or portfolio preparation or study sections for the last minute.
Students relying solely on theoretical knowledge without practicing creative and sketching questions can be a mistake as these sections need daily hands on practice to master and therefore score high.
Ignoring the Pearl Academy syllabus and not preparing accordingly can also be one of the major mistakes students can make. Students should make sure they are aware of all the significant subjects and questions that can be asked in each area.
Stressing over difficult complex questions can waste valuable time in the exam and affect overall performance. Hasty answers can also lead to careless mistakes. Therefore stress and panic are advised to ignore at the time of the exam.
Students also need to ensure that all the creative answers are authentic and not copied. Plagiarism can be very important.
It’s crucial to refer to a variety of sources for your exam preparation. Don’t stick to just one book or material; explore multiple sources to ensure a well-rounded preparation.
When it comes to design-related questions, don’t overthink the process. Stick to your first instinct while sketching or ideating. Creativity often comes naturally when you’re relaxed.
Presentations of solutions should not be disorganized as it may leave a poor impression and lower your chances.
Don’t Leave Questions Unanswered: Attempt every question, even if you're not sure. Partial creativity is preferable to leaving a design-based question blank.
