National Testing Agency (NTA) will notify the guidelines about the list of prohibited items inside the NIFT 2026 exam centre on its official website - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/. Candidates appearing for NIFT 2026 must take note of the items not allowed to be carried to successfully appear for the exam. Candidates found to be carrying prohibited items will be disqualified from the exam. NTA will conduct the NIFT entrance exam in around 82 cities across the country. In this article, get the list of prohibited items in NIFT 2026 that candidates must not carry inside the exam hall.
The list of prohibited items in NIFT 2026 will also be mentioned in the NIFT 2026 admit card, which will contain important exam instructions for the candidates.
NTA has released in its brochure, the list of items that aspirants have to and don’t have to carry to the exam centre through brochure. Details on other exam day instructions will be notified through the admit card. If any candidate is found to be in possession of any of the prohibited items, his/ her candidature will be treated as unfair means and lead to cancellation of the candidature and he or she may also be debarred from appearing for future examination(s).

The candidates are prohibited from carrying any kind of electronic gadgets/device in the exam room/hall.
Smoking, chewing gutka, spitting etc. in the Examination Room/Hall is strictly prohibited.
Instrument/Geometry/Pencil box, Handbag, Purse or Any kind of Paper/Stationery, Eatables / Snacks and Tea / Coffee / Cold drinks / Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone / Earphone / Microphone / Pager / Calculator/ Camera /Tape Recorder, any metallic item or electronic gadgets etc. are not allowed in the NIFT entrance exam hall.
Only candidates who are appearing for CAT Exam (2nd shift) will be permitted to carry their
Colouring and drawing material in a transparent pencil box. For CAT a physical question booklet with space for responses will be provided at the centre.
Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets / fruits (like banana / apple / orange) and transparent water bottles to the Examination Hall. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/ candy/sandwiches etc.

According to the sources, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) entrance exam for 2026 will be held in February 2026. Also, the registration period may open from November 2025.

Yes , you are eligible for NIFT - UG 2026 . Based on your birthdate , you will be 19 years old as of August 1 , 2026 , which is well within the age limit .
NIFT requires applicants to be under 24 years of age on August 1 of the admission year , with a 5 year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD candidates .
