The NIFT 2026 situation test is the second stage of the NIFT entrance test for B.Des programme. Only shortlisted candidates in the NIFT 2026 will be eligible to appear for the NIFT situation test. Last year, a total of 10,869 candidates registered for the NIFT situation test, out of which 8,859 candidates appeared for the same.

Understanding the NIFT qualifying marks is the concept of scores that candidates need to secure in the NIFT exam. It is mandatory to score NIFT qualifying marks for the students to get NIFT admission. The NIFT entrance test will be conducted in stages based on the BDes and MDes programme. In order to get admission into these bachelor’s or master’s programs of the NIFT participating institutes, candidates are required to score NIFT qualifying marks and these marks vary every year.
NIFT 2026 was held in online mode on February 8, 2026. NIT exam is conducted in two stages and both will be different for UG and PG programmes. Here we have defined both the stages.

Candidates need to score near 45% to 565% marks in GAT and CAT for BDes course whereas for MDes, MFM, and BFTech the qualifying marks should 40% to 50% followed by the further stages of admission. However, the percentage of NIFT qualifying marks vary every year. Also, NIFT has got reservation policies where there will be a bit of relaxation of marks for the candidates based on their categories including General, SC, ST, EWS, OBC-NCL EWS and PwD.
