National Testing Agency has published the NIFT 2026 important instructions on its official website - exams.nta.nic.in/niftee. Candidates can check the NIFTEE 2026 exam instructions in the information bulletin. Additionally, the authorities will also notify the exam instructions on the NIFT 2026 admit card. Candidates appearing for the NIFT 2026 entrance exam must go through the NIFT 2026 important instructions before appearing for the exam. NTA will conduct NIFT 2026 on February 8, 2026, at 102 exam centres across India for admission into UG and PG design programmes of 20 NIFT campuses in India.
NTA has notified the NIFT 2026 exam date on its official website - exams.nta.nic.in/niftee in the information bulletin. The NIFT entrance exam for all programmes will be conducted on the same day, February 8, 2026, but the timings may differ.

Given below are some of the important instructions for NIFT 2026 issued by NTA that candidates must duly follow.
Candidates must bring a printed copy of the NIFT 2026 admit card along with two photographs (same as the ones uploaded at the time of registration) and a government-issued ID. Issued a photo identity card.
Candidates must report to the NIFT exam centre at the prescribed reporting time and be seated in their respective hall.
Entry into the exam centre will be stopped 30 minutes before the start of the exam
The authorities will capture the biometric information of the candidates and perform identity checks to ensure that no unauthorized candidates are appearing for the test
The candidate must sign and paste the photograph on the Attendance Sheet at the appropriate place.
Chewing gutkha, smoking and spitting inside hall is strictly prohibited
The candidate must ensure that the question paper available on the computer is as indicated in the admit card.
All calculations/writing work should be done only in the rough sheet provided at the centre. This rough sheet must be returned to the invigilator on completion of the test.
Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before completion of the exam.
The authorities will not reimburse the costs incurred by the candidate to appear for the exam
Candidates must not resort to any unfair means during the exam; failing which, they will be disqualified from the admission process.
Applications of candidates submitting false and fabricated information will be rejected, and such candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam in the future.
NTA reserves the right to withdraw permission, granted inadvertently if any, to any candidate who otherwise is not eligible to appear in the NIFTEE, even though the admit card has been issued to them.
Below is a list of items that are prohibited from being carried on the exam day
Mobile phones, Textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, and Electronic gadgets
Instrument/Geometry/Pencil box, Handbag, Purse or Any kind of Paper/Stationery, Eatables /Snacks, and Tea / Coffee / Cold drinks / Water (loose or packed), Mobile Phone / Earphone /Microphone / Pager / Calculator/ Camera /Tape Recorder, any metallic item or electronic gadgets etc. are not allowed in the Examination Room/Hall.
Only candidates who are appearing for the CAT Exam (2nd shift) will be allowed to carry their Colouring and drawing material in a transparent pencil box. For CAT, a physical Sheet/Booklet with space for responses will be provided at the exam centre.
