The National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026 is a national-level test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into all UG, PG, Ph.D. and special category programs of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) for the 2026–27 academic session for B.Des., B.F.Tech., NLEA (Lateral Entry) for UG, M.Des., M.F.M., M.F.Tech., Artisans Category, International/NRI category, and Ph.D. programs. NTA conducts the entrance exam, displays answer key, processes challenges, and declares results.
Candidates must apply only through online mode on the official NTA Examination portal: https://exams.nta.nic.in/niftee/. No printed/offline form is available. Before filling the online form, candidates must carefully read the entire Information Bulletin, ensure eligibility for their chosen program, prepare documents in prescribed format, register with an email ID and mobile number, fill personal and academic details, upload required documents, and pay the exam fee online. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Such applicants must fulfil program-specific academic eligibility similar to that of Indian candidates. Additionally, they must possess: (i) Valid Passport, (ii) Proof of foreign residency, (iii) Equivalence certificate from AIU (if qualifying exam passed outside India), and (iv) Valid SAT/GMAT/GRE score obtained after 1st Jan 2024. Candidates may have taken the test multiple times; the highest score submitted will be considered, if received by NIFT on or before 30 April 2026. They must have working knowledge of English. They do not appear for GAT/CAT; their admission is based on international test scores + NIFT evaluation
UG Program (B.Des. and B.F.Tech.): Maximum age limit is less than 24 years as on 1 August 2026 (admission year). SC/ST/PwD candidates receive a 05 years relaxation. PG Program (M.Des, M.F.M., M.F.Tech.): No age limit. Ph.D.: No age limit.
Yes. All papers are bilingual (Hindi and English). In case of any discrepancy between Hindi and English versions, the English version shall be treated as final.
Admit Cards are expected to be released 3–4 days before the date of examination. Candidates must download the Admit Card only from the official NTA portal. No hard copies will be sent by post. Candidates are advised to regularly check the portal and their registered email/SMS for updates.
While there is no strict dress code, candidates are advised to wear simple clothes without pockets or metallic items to facilitate smooth frisking. Large accessories, jewellery, caps, hoodies, and clothes with heavy embroidery or metal must be avoided
Biometric verification is mandatory for all candidates appearing for the exam. Biometric data is used only for identity verification and maintaining examination integrity.
For the CBT exam, the PwD candidates are provided facilities as per Govt. norms, including: (i) compensatory time, (ii) scribe facility (if eligible and approved), (iii) wheelchair access, subject to availability. Candidates must apply for a scribe request in advance as per NTA instructions. No Scribe is permitted in CAT.
Stage–2 is conducted only for shortlisted candidates, based on the performance in Stage–1. Shortlisting is programme-specific: B.Des → (GAT + CAT), M.Des → (GAT + CAT), M.F.M/M.F.Tech → (GAT only), NLEA → (GAT). Only shortlisted candidates receive Stage-2 admit cards.
