NIFT Seats For General Category, Check No. of seats
The National Institute of Fashion Technology will notify the NIFT 2026 seats for the general category on its official website - nift.ac.in in its admission brochure. The NIFT 2026 general category seats will be allotted as per the NIFT reservation criteria. Together, the 19 NIFT campuses offer 4837 seats across different programmes. These seats will be divided across categories as per the reservation policy. In this article, know the NIFT seat availability for the general category.
The NIFT seat allotment will be done based on rank in NIFT 2026, as well as the campus preferences given by the candidate at the time of NIFT counselling. Through the NIFT entrance exam, candidates will be admitted into the B.Des, B.FTech, M.Des, M.FTech, and MFM programmes.
NIFT 2026 Reservation Criteria
Candidates can know the NIFT 2026 seats for the general category through the reservation policy as given below. According to the NIFT general category eligibility, if a candidate who has selected a reserved category i.e. SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwD, and does not submit a valid Category Certificate, he/she will be considered for open category seats, provided any benefit of relaxed age or income, or cut-offs has not been availed by the candidate at any stage of the admission process.

The NIFT general category seats vary each year for NIFT admission into UG and PG programmes. The category-wise vacant seats will also be available after each round of counselling. The table below provides you with the NIFT seat matrix for various programmes
