SEED 2019 - Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) extended the end date to fill SEED 2019 application form from April 15 to 21. The authorities will conduct Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) on May 4, 2019 in the online mode. The SEED 2019 entrance exam offers admission to students to four major programmes- Communication Design, Fashion Communication, Industrial Design and Fashion Design. The online registration for SET 2019 began on January 24. The admit card for the SEED entrance exam will be released on April 24 to May 4, 2019. The SEED result 2019 will be declared on May 14.The qualified candidates in SEED 2019 have to appear for SID’s Studio Test and Personal Interaction. The Studio test and personal interaction will take place at SID, Pune campus on May 17. The final selection of candidates will be based on performance in the test, Studio Test and personal interaction. A total of 207 (180 for Indian students) seats will be allocated to qualified candidates on the basis of score obtained in SEED 2018. Read below to know the detailed eligibility criteria of SET Design 2019:
Application form of SEED 2019 is available in the online mode from January 24 to April 21. The application fee for SET Design is Rs.1750. It can be paid via credit card/net banking/Indian Bank net banking/cash/demand draft.
Candidates are required to register online first and also upload their latest scanned photograph as well. They are also required to pay the non-refundable SEED 2019 application fee.
Candidates can download the admit card of SEED 2019 from April 24 to May 4. Along with the SEED 2019 admit card, candidates will have to carry one of the following photo identity proofs to the examination centre.
Test-takers have to ensure that they download colored printout of the admit card and their latest passport-sized coloured photograph is pasted on the SEED 2019 admit card at the correct place. This authenticated admit card should be kept safely till selection processes.
Exam pattern of SET Design 2019 includes details about the design aptitude test, such as total number of questions, maximum marks, marking scheme, and more. The number of questions asked in the exam is 150 and the nature of the question is objective having four options. The maximum marks allotted is 150. No marks is deducted for wrong answers. Candidates who are appearing for SEED 2019 are evaluated on various parameters, such as general design awareness, creative thinking abilities, color, geometry, visual observations, awareness about Indian culture, craft & traditions.
The questions in the entrance exam will be based on the topics mentioned in SET Design 2019 syllabus.

Understanding and visualization of simple and complex 2D & 3D geometric shapes, their manipulations and spatial relationships through representations in pictorial and geometric forms
Application of Basic Knowledge of Science and Mathematics
Observing applications of basic principles of science and mathematics learned up to standard 10th in the day-to-day activities & objects and finding the interesting relevance
Creative and Problem Solving Abilities
Ability to visualize and relate images. Ability to identify a problem and provide solutions
Symbiosis Institute of Design will declare SEED 2019 result on May 14. Further, selection processes (studio test and personal interaction) for qualified candidates will be conducted after SEED 2019 result announcement from May 28 to June 1. Score card of SEED 2018 will be available in online mode for a period of one month from the date of SEED result declaration.
The first merit list of SEED 2019 will be available for candidates on June 6. Candidates whose name will be displayed on the SET Design merit list 2019 can register from June 6 to June 11 onwards. A total of 207 seats will be allocated to the qualified candidates across eight design specializations on merit basis. The merit list will be prepared based on the performance of candidates in the entrance exam.

Admissions to qualified candidates to various B.Des programmes will be given in the following manner:
Level 1: Candidates will have to appear for SEED 2019. Qualified ones will be eligible to appear for studio test and personal interaction. Shortlisting of candidates will be done only on the basis of preference 1 selected during registration.
Level 2: The Institute will conduct studio test and personal interaction at its Pune campus from lMay 28 to June 1 2019.
Final selection of candidates will be done based on candidates’ cumulative performance in SEED 2019, studio test and personal interaction.
SEED is conducted across 80 cities. Candidates can choose three centres according to their preference while filling the application form. The center and its address will be mentioned on SEED Admit Card.
