SEED 2018 - Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) has announced the result of Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) 2018 on May 14, and students can now check their admission status. The entrance exam was conducted on May 5 for offering admissions to four major design programmes- Communication Design, Fashion Communication, Industrial Design and Fashion Design. A total of 207 (180 for Indian students) seats will be allocated to qualified candidates on the basis of score obtained in SEED 2018. Admissions will be solely on merit basis. Eligible and qualified test-takers will be offered seats in different undergraduate design programmes as per their performance in the entrance test, i.e. SEED 2018. The institute will also conduct a studio test and personal interaction for these candidates. Online registration was commenced from January 29, 2018 onwards. Symbiosis Institute of Design has declared SET Design 2018 result on May 14 for candidates, who took the entrance test on May 5. Further, selection processes (studio test and personal interaction) for qualified candidates will be conducted after SEED 2018 result announcement. Score card of SEED 2018 will be available in online mode for a period of one month from the date of SEED result declaration.
The first merit list of SEED 2018 will be available for candidates on June 4. Candidates, whose name will be displayed in the SET Design merit list 2018, can register from June 5 onwards. A total of 207 seats will be allocated to the qualified candidates across eight design specializations on merit basis, which will be prepared on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam.

SEED Selection Procedure 2018
Admissions will be given across various B.Des programmes in the following manner to qualified candidates of SEED 2018-
Level 1: Candidates had to appear for SEED 2018. Qualified ones will be eligible to appear for studio test and personal interaction. Shortlisting for admissions will be done only on the basis of preference 1 selected during registration.
Level 2: The Institute will conduct studio test and personal interaction at its Pune campus from May 28 to June 1.
Final selection of candidates will be done on the basis of candidates’ cumulative performance in SEED 2018, studio test and personal interaction.
Detailed eligibility criteria of SEED 2018 can be checked below:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 in any stream or equivalent or 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the final examination (45% for ST/SC).
Candidates must have creative aptitude and skills required for pursuing design education along with adaptability to the professional situations.
Those having relevant portfolio will be preferred by Symbiosis Institute of Design.
Application form of SET Design 2018 was available from January 29 to April 14 in online mode. The application fee was Rs.1750/-. It could be paid via credit card/net banking/Indian Bank net banking/cash/demand draft.
Candidates were required to register online first. They had to upload their latest scanned photograph as well. They were required to pay the non-refundable SET Design 2018 application fee.
SEED 2018 was held across a total of 85 cities in India. Candidates had to choose one SET Design 2018 exam centre from the below given list-

Admit card of SET Design 2018 was available for download from April 21 to May 5. Along with the SEED 2018 admit card, they had to bring any one of the below mentioned photo identity proofs with them to the test centre on exam day:

Test-takers will had to make sure that their latest passport-sized coloured photograph was pasted on the SEED 2018 admit card at the correct place. This authenticated admit card should be kept for further selection processes.
Exam pattern of SET Design 2018 comprises details about the design aptitude test such as total number of questions, maximum marks, marking scheme, and more. The question paper included a total of 150 objective questions having multiple options. The maximum marks were 150. No marks will be deducted for wrong answers.
The SEED 2018 evaluated the candidates on various parameters like general design awareness, creative thinking abilities, color, geometry, visual observations, awareness about Indian culture, craft & traditions, etc.
