NIFT 2026 Exam Timings
The NIFT exam consists of two components - GAT and CAT. Candidates have to appear for one or both, depending upon the programme in which they wish to seek admission. The NIFT exam timings 2026 will be provided in the admit card as well as the exam notification. The table given below provides the timings as per the trends seen last year.

NIFT 2026 Notification Date
NIFT has released the NIFT notification 2026 online on December 8, 2025. The NIFT 2026 notification contains all details about the exam, including the schedule, important instructions and guidelines, participating institutes, and more.
NIFT Application Form 2026 Date
NTA opened the NIFT 2026 application form in online mode on December 8, 2025. Aspirants seeking admission into NIFT design programmes are required to register and submit the application form online at the official website - nift.ac.in before the prescribed deadline. The candidates have to make payment as per the fee specified for different categories and upload the required documents to complete the NIFT 2026 registration. The deadline to complete NIFT 2026 registration is January 16 with regular fee and January 19 with late fee.
NIFT 2026 Application Form Correction Date
The authorities have notified NIFT 2026 application form correction date which is January 20-21, 2026. The correction window will be opened after the NIFT registration is closed. The candidates who wish to make any changes to the application form can use this correction window to update the correct information. No changes will be allowed after the correction window closure.
NIFT 2026 City Intimation Slip Release Date
NTA will release the NIFT 2026 city intimation slip online tentatively ten days before the exam. The advance city intimation slip of NIFT 2026 will include details about the city where the candidate's allotted exam centre is located. The NIFT city intimation slip is different from the admit card.
NIFT 2026 Admit Card Date
NTA will issue the NIFT admit card 2026 one week before the exam on its official website. The registered candidates can download the NIFT 2026 admit card using their login credentials. The admit card of NIFT 2026 is a mandatory document for the exam.
NIFT Exam Date 2026
NTA will conduct the NIFT entrance examination 2026 on February 8. The NIFT entrance test will be conducted as the CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test). Candidates preparing for the entrance exam were advised to check the NIFT syllabus as per the programme they have applied for.

NIFT Answer Key 2026 Date
NTA will release the provisional NIFT 2026 answer key tentatively one week after the exam. The provisional answer key helps the candidates to check and compare the answers they have marked in the exam. Candidates will also be allowed to raise objections against the answer key within the specified dates after payment of the objection fee per question
After considering the objections, the authorities will release the NIFT 2026 final answer key. The result of NIFT entrance exam will be prepared as per the final answer key.
NIFT 2026 Entrance Exam Result Date
NTA will declare the NIFT 2026 result separately for different programmes. Candidates can check the NIFT 2026 results online with their login credentials. Candidates shortlisted in the NIFT result 2026 will be called to participate in the next round which will be a situation test or an interview.
NIFT Second Round 2026 Dates
The candidates who are shortlisted from the NIFT entrance exam 2026 will be eligible for the second round. NTA will announce the NIFT 2026 situation test date on its official website. The NIFT situation test 2026 will be conducted tentatively in May/June 2026.
The authorities will release the NIFT 2026 situation test admit card tentatively one week before the exam, which is a mandatory document to attend the situation test. Candidates can download the admit card of the NIFT situation test through their login.

NIFT 2026 Final Result Date
The NIFT final result 2026 will be declared tentatively in the fourth week of June 2026. The NIFT 2026 final result will be declared as the marks obtained by the candidate in the NIFT entrance exam and the NIFT situation test weightage. Shortlisted candidates in the final result of NIFT 2026 will be eligible to take part in the counselling process.
NIFT 2026 Counselling Date
The NIFT 2026 counselling dates will be notified on the official website - nift.ac.in and nift.admissions.nic.in. Candidates will be required to register for NIFT counselling online, upload their documents for verification, and provide college choices.
