• Applicants who have passed  or appearing for their 10+2 from any stream (OR) a 3 years Diploma (equivalent to 10+2) from any recognized higher secondary board/institute.

For MDes:

• Applicants must have 10+2+3/4 years degree (OR) 5 years Diploma (pass/appearing) in any stream from a recognized institution or university.

UID entrance exam pattern 2026 is yet to be released by the United World Institute of Design for candidates seeking admission in UG and PG design programmes. Meanwhile, the candidates are advised to check the details of the exam pattern for the UID entrance test as per the previous year which is provided below:

• The exam will be for a total of 100 marks.
• The UID DAT entrance exam duration is 3 hours.
• The UID entrance exam will include a written test, and the shortlisted candidates will have to take a Creative Situation Test along with a Personal Interview and Portfolio Round.    
• In the situation test, the test-takers will be given different situations. They will be required to make models based on that. There will be questions requiring sketching as well.
• For the personal interview, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a personal interview. They will have to carry their portfolios as well.
