It was seen in the NID 2026 question paper that it did not have any Part-A section and questions were only based on creative ability. As per the revised selection process and NID DAT Exam Pattern , the NID DAT prelims result will not have any weightage in the final selection of candidates for B.Des and M.Des programmes. NID Mains exam will have 60% weightage for studio test and 40% weightage for the in-person interview for NID B.Des selection.

Your ability to recall the details of the everyday happening in the format of structured “Process-visualisation”, like making tea, candles from bee-wax etc. are asked in the NID for testing your creativity to enforce meaningful transformations. The basis structure of such questions is as follows:

Object → Action → Tool → Transformation → Outcome

5. Applied Social and Environmental Awareness

Over the time the section of “General awareness” is being increasingly tested thur situation based recalling , in spite of direct questions.
