The Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala (DTE Kerala) has published the KS DAT 2025 revised merit list and the seat allotment on July 11, 2025 on its official website - lbsapplications.kerala.gov.in/ksdat2025. Earlier it started the KS DAT 2025 counseling option registration from July 7. Candidates were allowed to register their options for KS DAT counselling 2025 till July 10. Earlier, the authorities declared the KS DAT 2025 result on July 5, 2025. Candidates can download the KS DAT 2025 rank list PDF from the official website. Shortlisted candidates will be eligible to secure admissions into B.Des programme. The Kerala State Design Aptitude Test 2025 was conducted by the DTE Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, on June 29, 2025. Earlier, the authority closed the correction window for the KS DAT 2025 application form on June 28. KS DAT Answer Key 2025

The authorities released the KS DAT answer key 2025 at lbsapplications.kerala.gov.in. If the candidates have any objections regarding the KS DAT 2025 answer key, they must submit their grievance to the Director, Director of Technical Education, Thiruvananthapuram within a period of 3 working days from the date the answer key is made available on the official website.

KS DAT 2025 Result

The authorities have decalred the KS DAT 2025 result at lbsapplications.kerala.gov.in on July 5, 2025. A rank list for admission to the BDes course has been published based on the total marks secured by the candidates. KS DAT Selection Process

To get admission into the BDes programme there are 2 ways of selection process: selection to the government seat and selection to the management seat. Admission to management seats can be done directly by the management. Here’ s the KS DAT exam 2025 selection process:

  • Selection to Government Seat:

    • For getting admission to the Government seat the candidate must qualify the entrance examination (KS-DAT) conducted by DTE, Thiruvananthapuram.

    • Director of Technical Education, Thiruvananthapuram will prepare a rank list based on the score obtained in the entrance examination (KS-DAT).

  • Selection to Management Seat:

    • For admission to management seats, the candidates must have qualified any one of the following national level entrance examinations:

    • NATA- (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) open to students in science stream

    • UCEED- (Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam)- open to students in science stream

    • NID DAT (National Institute of Design, Design Aptitude Test)- open to students from all streams

    • NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination)-

    • (KS-DAT) (Kerala State Design and Aptitude Test)

Documents to be Uploaded for KS DAT Application Form 2025

While filling out the KS DAT application form 2025 candidates were required to upload the documents mentioned below:

  • Scanned copy of the 10th grade certificate or any other relevant record to prove date of birth.

  • Certificates to prove nativity

  • Marklist/ Hall Ticket of qualifying examination.

  • Scanned copy of Non Creamy Layer Certificate issued for the state education purpose (if applicable).

  • Scanned copy of Community Certificate (if applicable).

  • Scanned copy of Inter-Caste marriage certificate (if applicable).

  • Scanned copy of Certificate from the Medical Board for Persons with Disabilities.

  • Scanned copy of the certificate from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon to the effect that the candidate is fit enough to undergo the BDes programme (only for candidate claiming PD reservation seat).

KS DAT Eligibility 2025

Aspiring candidates willing to obtain KS DAT 2025 admission had to meet the eligibility as laid down by the authorities. Provided below is the KS DAT 2025 eligibility criteria for the candidates to meet.

Nativity Eligibility:

Only the citizens of India are eligible for admission to the BDes programme unless stated otherwise. The Overseas Citizen of India(OCI) Cardholder (including PIO cardholder) are eligible to apply only under Non-Resident Indian seats or any supernumerary seats. However, they are not permitted to compete for the seats specifically reserved for Indian citizens. Candidates appearing for the KS DAT 2025 for BDes programme, the admission are divided into 3 categories: Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I (NK I), and Non- Keralite Category II (NK II).

Keralite: A candidate who belongs to Kerala origin will be considered as a Keralite. Also the children of All India Service (AIS) officers who are Non-Keralites but have been assigned to the Kerala cadre are classified as Keralites. However, these candidates will not be entitled to any Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

Non-Keralite Category I (NK I): A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfils any of the following conditions will be categorised as 'Non-Keralite Category I' (NK I).

  • A candidate who has completed their qualifying course in Kerala and are children of Non-Keralite parents belonging to Government of India/Defence Service, posted to Kerala.

  • A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who have worked for the Government of Kerala for at least two years.

  • A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but have resided in the state for five years within the last twelve years of their academic period.

  • A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who have completed their schooling in Kerala from standard 8th to 12th.

  • Non-Keralite Category I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats for B.DES course. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

Non-Keralite Category II (NK II): Candidates who do not fall under Keralite or NonKeralite Category I will be categorised as Non-Keralite Category II. The candidates are eligible for admission to both Government and Management quota seats in B.DES course in Government controlled Self-Financing colleges. However, the Non-Keralite Category II candidates will be considered for admission to the Government seats in B.DES course in Government Cost Sharing colleges only when the Keralite and Non-Keralite I candidates are not available for admission. Non-Keralite Category II candidates are also eligible for admission to both Government and Management quota seats in Private Self-financing colleges. The Non-Keralite Category II candidates are not entitled to any Communal/ Special/ Persons with Disabilities reservation, nor are they eligible for fee concession.

Academic Eligibility:

Candidates seeking admission to the BDes programme are required to fulfil the KS DAT eligibility 2025 so as not to face any rejection. Candidates with 45% marks in 10+2 were eligible to apply for the KS DAT 2025. The applicant should satisfy the following KS DAT eligibility 2025 conditions:

  • Candidates must pass 12th grade conducted by the Board of HSE Kerala or examination equivalent thereto as approved by KTU.

  • A minimum requirement of 45% marks and 40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category.
