Only the citizens of India are eligible for admission to the BDes programme unless stated otherwise. The Overseas Citizen of India(OCI) Cardholder (including PIO cardholder) are eligible to apply only under Non-Resident Indian seats or any supernumerary seats. However, they are not permitted to compete for the seats specifically reserved for Indian citizens. Candidates appearing for the KS DAT 2025 for BDes programme, the admission are divided into 3 categories: Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I (NK I), and Non- Keralite Category II (NK II).
Keralite: A candidate who belongs to Kerala origin will be considered as a Keralite. Also the children of All India Service (AIS) officers who are Non-Keralites but have been assigned to the Kerala cadre are classified as Keralites. However, these candidates will not be entitled to any Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
Non-Keralite Category I (NK I): A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfils any of the following conditions will be categorised as 'Non-Keralite Category I' (NK I).
A candidate who has completed their qualifying course in Kerala and are children of Non-Keralite parents belonging to Government of India/Defence Service, posted toKerala.
A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who have worked for the Government of Kerala for at least two years.
A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but have resided in the state for five years within the last twelve years of their academic period.
A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who have completed their schooling in Kerala from standard 8th to 12th.
Non-Keralite Category I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats for B.DES course. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
Non-Keralite Category II (NK II): Candidates who do not fall under Keralite or NonKeralite Category I will be categorised as Non-Keralite Category II. The candidates are eligible for admission to both Government and Management quota seats in B.DES course in Government controlled Self-Financing colleges. However, the Non-Keralite Category II candidates will be considered for admission to the Government seats in B.DES course in Government Cost Sharing colleges only when the Keralite and Non-Keralite I candidates are not available for admission. Non-Keralite Category II candidates are also eligible for admission to both Government and Management quota seats in Private Self-financing colleges. The Non-Keralite Category II candidates are not entitled to any Communal/ Special/ Persons with Disabilities reservation, nor are they eligible for fee concession.
Candidates seeking admission to the BDes programme are required to fulfil the KS DAT eligibility 2025 so as not to face any rejection. Candidates with 45% marks in 10+2 can apply for the KS DAT 2025. The applicant should satisfy the following KS DAT eligibility 2025 conditions:
Candidates must pass 12th grade conducted by the Board of HSE Kerala or examination equivalent thereto as approved by KTU.
A minimum requirement of 45% marks and 40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category.

Selection to Government Seat:
For getting admission to the Government seat the candidate must qualify the entrance examination (KS-DAT) conducted by LBS Centre.

For admission to management seats, the candidates must have qualified any one of the following national level entrance examinations:

Scanned copy of Non Creamy Layer Certificate issued for the state education purpose (if applicable).
