Candidates who secure the NIFT 2026 qualifying marks will be eligible to appear for the second stage of NIFTEE. The second stage of NIFT 2026 varies across programmes. While there is the NIFT situation test for BDes, the NIFT PG has a personal interview round. As per last year’s trends, the number of candidates who qualify for NIFT stage 2 will be 4 times the number of seats. Candidates also have to clear the final NIFT cutoff to secure admission into the NIFT programmes after the second round. In this article, let’s understand the NIFT 2026 qualifying marks.
NTA conducts the NIFT entrance exam to offer admissions into BDes, BFTech, MDes, MFTech, and MFM programmes of participating NIFT campuses in India.
First, candidates have to qualify the entrance exam to participate in the second round of admissions. Only NIFT BDes and NIFT PG programmes have a second stage of admissions. There is no second round in NIFT BFTech. Candidates numbering 4 times the number of seats will be called to participate in the second round.
The final NIFT result will be prepared based on the candidate’s score in the entrance exam and the second stage, as per the prescribed weightage. Candidates have to clear the NIFT 2026 cut-off for each NIFT counselling round to secure seat allotment. The category-wise and programme-wise NIFT cutoff for each counselling round will be available on the official admission portal - nift.admissions.nic.in.
