FDDI conducts All India Selection Test or AIST for admission to various UG, PG and certificate courses. FDDI AIST is conducted as a pen and paper based test for all courses across 31 cities in India. FDDI courses admissions are made solely on merit basis i.e. rank wise and counselling.

Candidates who will be called for FDDI counselling and if a candidate is allotted a seat will have to pay a sum of Rs. 25,000 at the time of counselling to secure admission in FDDI courses. This includes Rs. 10,000 as registration fee which is non-refundable plus Rs. 15,000 as advance fee. Read the full article to know the detailed analysis of the courses provided by FDDI.

FDDI Design Courses

A wide array of FDDI courses of varying durations and specialisations are offered at the institute. FDDI design courses are designed with the aim of teaching the students the art of creating designs in footwear industry, leather industry, and fashion design sectors to make impactful contributions to the evolving field of footwear design and production, both domestically and globally.

B.Des in Footwear Design and Production

FDDI’s 4 years long footwear design and production degree offers several benefits to learners like gaining specialised skills and knowledge in footwear design, including understanding materials and construction techniques. All campuses at FDDI offer BDes. in Fashion Design. This is a 4 year bachelor degree. A student pursuing BDes in Fashion Design FDDI course has the opportunity to explore and develop creativity through various design projects. They also provide training in pattern making, garment construction, draping, and sewing techniques, equipping you with the technical skills. There are a total of 80 seats available in this FDDI design course. It will cost you approximately 2.52 lakhs for one year.

The total seat capacity is 60 and it is a 4 years long bachelor degree course consisting of 8 semesters. The fee for B.Des. remains around 2.52 lakhs for one year.

FDDI Certificate Design Courses

Additionally, FDDI also offers various certificate programs. The fee for the certificate courses is Rs. 30,000. Certificate courses are offered in two categories: certificate program non-leather and certificate program. Let’s read further to know about each program:

Certificate Program Non-Leather:

Non-Leather Footwear Executive Development Programme:

FDDI offers this program at Banur, Rohtak, Kolkata, Noida and Chennai. The duration of the course is 1 year and it is full time course.

Non-Leather Footwear Manufacturing Technology:

This course is available in five campuses of FDDI out of twelve. It is for the duration of 6 months. It is both part time and full-time course. One can choose according to their feasibility.

Certificate Program:

Certificate Program in Footwear manufacturing Technology:

FDDI provides this course at various campuses. The duration of the course is 6 months and it is full-time course.

Certificate program in Footwear Designing:

This certificate program is provided in various MDDI campuses. This is a full-time course with a duration of 3 months.

Certificate Program in Non-Leather Footwear Manufacturing:

The duration of the course is 3 months. It is also a full-time course.

Certificate Program in Footwear Cutting Operator:

Speaking of this course, it is only for 1 month and it is a full-time certificate program.

Certificate Program in Footwear Upper Assembly Operator:

This certificate program in Footwear Upper Assembly Operator is provided for the duration of 1 month and it is for full-time.

Certificate Program in Footwear Bottom Component Operator (insole):

This course also for the duration of 1 month. A student has to be available full-time.

Certificate Program in Footwear Bottom component Operator (sole):

Certificate program in bottom component operator (sole) is offered for only 1 month. It is also a full-time program like insole program.

Footwear Design and Leather Product Development:

FDDI offers this course only at Jodhpur Campus. This excellent course is offered for the duration of 2 months. It is a regular on-campus program.

In addition to these, there are two more certificate courses provided by FDDI Hyderabad Campus. Those are CAD/CAM Applications in Footwear Designing and Footwear Retail. The first one is offered for 1 month or 40 hours course and the latter one is for the duration of 60 hours in 1 month.
