Footwear Design and Development Institute will notify the FDDI courses 2026 on its official website - fddiindia.com. The FDDI 2026 courses include three B.Des programmes and two M.Des programmes. FDDI offers courses in various design specialisations such as such as Footwear Design and Production, Leather Lifestyle and Product Design, and Fashion Design. The total intake of FDDI courses 2026 across 12 FDDI campuses is 1670 seats for BDes and 180 seats for MDes. The admissions into the FDDI courses will be done based on the FDDI All India Selection Test. The institute will conduct FDDI AIST 2026 in offline mode

FDDI courses are offered with varying durations and specialisations at its campuses. FDDI has its Pan India Presence with its 12 state-of-the-art campuses spread all over the country. The FDDI design admissions are done into 3 B.Des programmes and 2 M.Des programmes.
The three B.Des courses at FDDI are given below
FDDI offers BDesign in footwear design and production degree for 4 years duration with 8 semesters. FDDI offers several benefits to the learners gaining specialised skills and knowledge in footwear design, including understanding materials and construction techniques. This FDDI course in design gives a hands-on experience through studio courses, workshops, and industry internships. The institute aims to create specialized professionals who will be able to serve the Footwear & allied Industry domains and excel efficiently across the globe. The FDDI design course fees for BDes is around 2.52 lakhs for one year. The BDes course fee varies slightly according to the campus.
All campuses at FDDI offer BDes. in Fashion Design. This is a 4-year bachelor's degree with 8 semesters. A student obtaining a BDes degree from the FDDI design course has the opportunity to explore and develop creativity through various design projects. FDDI also provides training in pattern making, garment construction, draping, and sewing techniques, equipping the students with useful technical skills. The total seats available in FDDI fashion design course is provided in the table below. The FDDI BDes fee structure is approximately 2.52 lakhs for one year.
FDDI’s B.Des course in Leather, Lifestyle, and Product Design provides students with a well-structured platform where they gain specialised knowledge and skills in leather design, product development, and lifestyle accessories, including wallets, handbags, footwear, and other leather goods. FDDI creates multitalented professionals suitable for national and international business sectors through this course to fulfill the future demands of the industry. FDDI B.Des in leather, lifestyle, and product design is offered for 4 years, consisting of 8 semesters. The FDDI course fees for B.Des remain around Rs. 2.52 lakhs for the first year.
As per FDDI AIST eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognised institution in any discipline. There is no age limit to apply for this course.

The two M.Des programmes at FDDI are given below
FDDI offers M.Des for 2 years (4 semesters) at various campuses. By pursuing this course in footwear design and production specialisation, an aspirant gains a deep knowledge of footwear design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies to become a techno-management professionals . Candidates will also learn and understand the new dynamics of global business in relation with market trends, consumer preferences and many more. The seating capacity of this FDDI design course is 60. The candidates should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from any recognised university or institution across India. The fee for FDDI MDes in footwear design and production is around 3.03 lakhs for 1st year.
M.Des. in Fashion Design FDDI course helps in developing research capabilities and advanced design techniques, including pattern making, garment construction, and enables you to create innovative and visually appealing fashion collections with digital design and sustainability. This FDDI design course is offered in various campuses across India. It is a 2-year master's degree course consisting of four semesters. A maximum of 30 candidates can take the FDDI design admission in this course. The candidates should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from any recognized university or institution across India. The fee for 1st year of M. Des. will be between 3 - 3.03 lakhs.
Other than degree programmes, FDDI also offers various certificate programs apart from the regular programmes. The fee for the certificate courses is Rs. 30,000. Certificate courses are offered in two categories: certificate program non-leather and certificate program. Let’s read further to know about each program of FDDI admission:
Non-Leather Footwear Executive Development Programme:
FDDI offers this program at Banur, Rohtak, Kolkata, Noida and Chennai. The duration of the course is 1 year and it is full time course.
Non-Leather Footwear Manufacturing Technology:
This course is available in five campuses of FDDI out of twelve. It is for the duration of 6 months. It is both part time and full-time course. One can choose according to their feasibility.
Certificate Program in Footwear manufacturing Technology:
FDDI provides this course at various campuses. The duration of the course is 6 months and it is full-time course.
Certificate program in Footwear Designing:
This certificate program is provided in various MDDI campuses. This is a full-time course with a duration of 3 months.
Certificate Program in Non-Leather Footwear Manufacturing:
The duration of the course is 3 months. It is also a full-time course.
Certificate Program in Footwear Cutting Operator:
Speaking of this course, it is only for 1 month and it is a full-time certificate program.
Certificate Program in Footwear Upper Assembly Operator:
This certificate program in Footwear Upper Assembly Operator is provided for the duration of 1 month and it is for full-time.
Certificate Program in Footwear Bottom Component Operator (insole):
This course also for the duration of 1 month. A student has to be available full-time.
Certificate Program in Footwear Bottom component Operator (sole):
Certificate program in bottom component operator (sole) is offered for only 1 month. It is also a full-time program like insole program.
Footwear Design and Leather Product Development:
FDDI admissions for this course are only offered at Jodhpur Campus. This course is offered for the duration of 2 months. It is a regular on-campus program.
In addition to these, there are two more certificate courses provided by FDDI Hyderabad Campus. Those are CAD/CAM Applications in Footwear Designing and Footwear Retail. The first one is offered for 1 month or 40 hours course and the latter one is for the duration of 60 hours in 1 month.
