The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, will release the UCEED reservation policy 2026 at uceed.iitb.ac.in. The reservation policy for seats in UCEED 2026 includes the details about the categories that are eligible for seat reservation according to the rules prescribed by the Government of India. Aspirants seeking a reservation have to submit the category details while filling out the UCEED application form 2026. As per the UCEED 2026 reservation policy, 15% of the seats are reserved for the Scheduled Caste, 7.5% of the seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribe, 27% of the seats are reserved for the OBC NCL, 10% of the seats are reserved for the General EWS category, and 5% reservation for persons with disability. The foreign nationals can have seat allotment with a cap of 10% of the total number of seats in every course.

The reservation of seats for UCEED 2026 will be done according to the norms prescribed by the Government of India. The UCEED reservation policy is important to ensure that students from all backgrounds have a fair chance in the exam. In case a student provides false information or fake documents such a candidate will be excluded from the admission process and their admission will be cancelled.
The UCEED reservation 2026 policy has been included in the official brochure as released by IIT Bombay on the official website - uceed.iitb.ac.in. All the aspirants are required to stick to the reservation policy for seats in UCEED 2026 and check it before filling the application form.

The candidates who belong to economically weaker sections of the general category will get 10% reservation benefits who will satisfy the OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC II dated January 17, 2019 issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The students must be fulfilling all the norms and notifications provided by the government of India and have the EWS certificate issued only on or after April 1, in the the year of admission.

The candidates who belong to other backward classes as well as are from a non-creamy layer have a 27% reservation in each course. The OBCs should be listed on the updated Central lists of OBCs. It must be noted that the OBCs which are present in the state list but are not recognised by the central list of OBC will not be eligible to claim reservation. As per the notification of Government of India only criteria for the non-creamy layer will be fixed. The students will have to produce certificates of their OBC NCL category which are generated on or after April 1st of the year of admission.
It is to be noted that the students who belong to the creamy layer of OBC will not be eligible for reservation and will be treated as General candidates which is the unreserved category. Such candidates can only avail the seats present under the open category for which all the candidates are eligible.
The reservation policy for seats in UCEED exam for scheduled castes and scheduled tribes will be only given to those castes and tribes which are mentioned in the central list of the corresponding states published by the government of India. The UCEED reservation for the Scheduled Caste is 15% whereas for the Scheduled Tribe it is 7.5% in each course.
The students who have disability can apply under the persons with disability category, which has a 5% reservation in each of the open, general EWS, OBC NCL, SC and ST categories. To be eligible for the reservation, the candidate must have at least 40% impairment irrespective of the disability type that is locomotor, visual, severe dyslexic. The candidates who are leprosy cured are also included in this subcategory.

The candidates who are not citizens of India by birth or naturalization shall be considered as foreign nationals. Such candidates must also not fall under the category of OCI / PIO candidates. The seats allotted to candidates falling under the foreign national category are supernumerary with a cap of 10% of the total number of seats in every course. The candidates who are recognised as foreign nationals will not be eligible for any reserved category under the domestic rules. There will also be no seats reserved for a special subcategory of female foreign nationals.
The students must have an all-India rank and satisfy the eligibility criteria to be considered for seat allocation. Once the completion of seat allocation for all Indian national candidates is done, the seat allocation for foreign national candidates of the same round will begin. A seat will only be offered to a foreign national candidate if their rank is same or better than the closing rank of open category candidates in that academic program with a subject to 10% cap on seats as mentioned above.
The candidates who are recognised as card holders of Person of Indian Origin or Overseas Citizen of India before the prescribed date will be considered for open category only. Such candidates will be included in the common rank list if they qualify the UCEED exam and satisfy all the eligibility criteria.Only those candidates who have the OCI / PIO card issued after the prescribed date will be treated as foreign nationals.For the identity proof the candidates are required to show citizenship certificate/ foreign passport or OCI / PIO card where applicable.
It must be noted that the seats which are under SC, ST, EWS and OBC NCL category shall not be allotted to any candidates belonging to any other category.
The candidates must carefully review the category section mentioned in the application form of UCEED 2026. The category of the candidate will remain final once entered into the database. Any request to change the category will not be entertained under any circumstance.
The candidates will be given the benefits of reservation only after the verification of the documents. During the verification of the documents or in any further stage if the candidate is found to be using false/ fake/ incorrect documents or has furnished false / incorrect/incomplete/ information to get the benefits of the reservation they will be excluded from the admission process.

To improve your score out of 300, start by understanding the exam pattern—Part A (objective) and Part B (subjective). For Part A, practice reasoning, numerical aptitude, and environmental & social awareness questions. For Part B, focus on drawing, sketching, and presenting your ideas clearly. Solve past year UCEED papers and join online mock test series. Spend at least 2–3 hours daily practising creative problem-solving and sketching. Also, work on time management because the exam requires quick thinking.

For NID DAT 2026, your eligibility is established based on your born date as you are born on or after July 1st 2005. For UCEED 2026, your eligibility is dependent on your born date by category. You are eligible if you are OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 2001. If you are SC/ST/PwD category you must be born on or after October 1, 1996 in order to be eligible. Based on your born date of December 20th, 2006 for both NID DAT 2026 and UCEED 2026; you will be eligible.
