National Testing Agency is expected to conduct NIFT 2026 tentatively in February 2026 as per past trends. The NIFT situation test 2026 for selected candidates is likely to be conducted in May/June 2026. It is to be noted that candidates do not need to appear for a NIFT situation test or a PI round for the B.FTech programme.
The NIFT situation test is a test administered to shortlisted candidates from the NIFT entrance exam result to test their innovative thinking and material handling ability in a given situation. The candidate will be asked to make a model with the material given to them. Candidates will also be asked to submit a write-up in English explaining the concept behind the model. The evaluation will be done on the spot by the jury panel.

The NIFT selection process includes three components -GAT, CAT, and Situation Test/Personal Interview. The NIFT situation test is conducted for UG programmes while the personal interview is conducted for PG prorammes. During the NIFT counselling process, candidates will be offered NIFT seat allotment based on their ranks based on the combined score in all three components.
General Ability Test and the Creative Ability Test: It must be noted that candidates seeking admission into M.FTech programme have to appear only for GAT.
NIFT Situation Test/Personal Interview - It must be noted that there is no situation test or interview conducted for admission into B.FTech programme.

According to the sources, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) entrance exam for 2026 will be held in February 2026. Also, the registration period may open from November 2025.

Yes , you are eligible for NIFT - UG 2026 . Based on your birthdate , you will be 19 years old as of August 1 , 2026 , which is well within the age limit .
NIFT requires applicants to be under 24 years of age on August 1 of the admission year , with a 5 year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD candidates .
