The National Institute of Design (NID) conducted the NID Design Aptitude Test for Mains on May 3 and prelims exam on January 5, 2025. NID DAT exam serves as a gateway for ambitious students aiming for B.Des and M.Des admissions at NID campuses at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru and remaining campuses and also at the other result-sharing institutes.

The NID Design Aptitude Test also known as NID DAT is a yearly examination. NID DAT is a two-stage entrance test that includes prelims and main exams. The NID DAT 2025 mains was held on May 3 where as prelims was held on January 5. Candidates who passed out the prelims need to appear for the NID DAT mains exam for both the B.Des and M.Des programmes. Candidates who achieve valid scores in the NID Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT) will be considered eligible for admission into design programs at colleges accepting NID DAT score in India. The selection process for NID DAT 2025 is based on the candidate’s performance in the exam. The NID DAT is a two-stage entrance test that includes preliminary and main exams. The NID DAT cutoff is determined by several factors, including the number of candidates taking the entrance test, the number of available seats, the difficulty level of the exam, and previous year cutoff trends.
Candidates who have qualified for NID DAT prelims and mains exams can apply for admission to NID score-accepting colleges by filling out the online application form available on the official website of the respective college. Candidates have to upload the required documents, pay the application fee, and submit the form before the last date. Candidates may have to appear for a personal interview or portfolio review as per the admission criteria of the college. As 563 rank in nid dat exam cannot guarantee admission in designing college but it could be a good chance to explore some campus as if you are not from general category as category role plays an important role . But now you can do one thing focus on your strengthening your protofile or preparing for the studio test (bdes) or interview (mdes).

No, IPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University) does not accept NID DAT Prelims score for admission to the B.Des (Bachelor of Design) program.
Instead, IPU conducts its own entrance test or may consider CUET (UG) scores for B.Des admissions, depending on the latest admission guidelines. Always refer to the university's official prospectus for the year you're applying to for the final admission criteria.
