NIFT Entrance Exam 2025: Registration, Dates, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus, Preparation

Candidates must meet the NIFT entrance exam eligibility requirement before filling the application form. Mentioned below are the detailed information regarding NIFT eligibility criteria 2025 for each programme.

For B.Des & B.F.Tech Programme: 

• Age Qualification: Candidates should have age less than 24 years as on August 1 of the admission year. Candidates belonging to reserved category (SC/ST/PwD) will have an age relaxation of 5 years. 

• Academic Qualification:  Candidates must pass the 10+2 from a recognised central or state board/ National Open School with a minimum of five subjects/  Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

For M.Des & M.F.M Programme:

• Age Qualification: There is no age limit for M.Des & M.F.M Programme.

• Academic Qualification: Candidates who completed their undergraduate degree in any stream from a recognized institute or university. Candidates who passed their 3 year diploma undergraduate course under NIFT/NID.  

For M.F.Tech programme: 

• Age Qualification: There is no age limit for M.F.Tech Programme 

• Academic Qualification: Candidates who completed their B.F.Tech from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) or B.E/B.Tech. from any recognized Institute / University.

NTA will release the NIFT application form on its official website - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. The exact date for NIFT 2025 application form is not yet announced. The NIFT registration form will be released likely in November 2024. The authorities will notify the NIFT 2025 application form last date on the official notification. Candidates need to carefully read all the guidelines specified by the authorities before applying for NIFT exam 2025. 

How to apply for NIFT 2025 registration form? 

Candidates who fulfil all the required NIFT entrance exam eligibility criteria need to apply. Here are the steps for filling the NIFT application form 2025: 

• Students should go to the official website - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT or nift.ac.in

• Register and generate the ID and password to fill the details.

• Relogin and fill the NIFT 2025 application form.

• Upload all required documents.

• Pay the application fee of NIFT and download.

• Take the printout for further NIFT admission process.

NIFT exam pattern will be prescribed by the NIFT authorities on its official brochure. Candidates must check the NIFT exam pattern to know about the type of questions, number of questions asked in each section, mode of the exam, and duration of the exam. The NIFT exam consists of two sections: General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT). Candidates appearing for admission at NIFT for various courses the exam pattern for those papers will vary. Candidates need to understand the NIFT test pattern to crack the exam.

 NIFT 2025 Duration And Weightage For All Programmes  

NIFT B.Des GAT exam pattern is given below for the understanding of the aspirants writing the entrance test. The number of question, language of exam, mode, marking scheme and such factors described in the exam pattern of NIFT B.Des GAT 2024 can be checked below in the table. The exam pattern for the M.Des programme is also given for the post graduate aspirants.

NIFT B.Des GAT Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of NIFT entrance exam 2024 for the Creative Ability Test namely CAT has not been released by the authorities yet, Candidates are advsied to focus on concept development and design as questions will be designed to test them in these areas. They must be creative and make innovative use of their colour and illustration skills. 

Generally three questions are asked for a total of 30 marks and candidates are tested accordingly.

NTA has announced the personal interview dates for M.Des programme on its official website -exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/. To download the personal interview call letter, candidates can use their login credentials such as application number and date of birth. Qualified candidates can participate in personal interview from April 4 to April 6, 2024. 

NIFT 2024 Situation Test will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates of CAT and GAT for B.Des admissions. This will be held separately for those who have qualified. The situation test is a hands-on test used to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling as well as the innovative ability in a given situation with a given set of materials.

The Exam Pattern of the Situation Test can be summarised as follows:

• Duration: two hours
• Test involves: Design of one three dimensional (3D) model.

Note: Candidates will be provided with all the required design materials which should be checked by them upon receipt.

Some guidelines:

• Candidates will be permitted to bring some items as instructed in the admit card
• They must make optimum usage of the same. Additional materials will not be provided.
• Colour pencils and marker pens are not allowed.
• An Answer Sheet will be provided separately for any writing purposes which has to be signed by the candidates in the exam hall.
• After completion of the test, the model, answer sheet and any left over materials must be left by the candidates on the table.

Evaluation Criteria for the NIFT Situation Test 2024 are as follows:

• Originality of the concept applied.
• Creative use of material and the skills for the same.
• Neatness of the final model.
• The write-up describing the model and concepts used.

NIFT M.FTech exam pattern gives candidates all the information about the type of questions, duration of exam, language, sections asked and more. This will aid candidates in better preparation for the exam and planning of the exam day.

Note: Candidates who qualified for the NIFT entrance exam can participate in the personal interview. The authorities will conduct the Personal interview from April 1 to April 2, in offline mode. Students can download the personal interview call letter by ending the application number and DOB on the NTA official website. 

Preparing for the NIFT entrance exam can be challenging for design aspirants. Candidates are advised to check the tips given below to prepare well for the exam:

• Practice Drawing: Regularly work on the drawing and sketching skills will improve the accuracy. 

• Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest fashion trends and industry news to enhance the general knowledge.

• Solve Past Papers: Practice with previous years' question papers to understand the exam pattern and improve time management.

• Take Mock Tests: Participate in mock tests to build confidence and identify areas that need improvement.

• Boost Creativity: Engage in activities that enhance the creativity and visualisation skills, essential for the design aptitude sections. 

The National Testing Agency will issue the NIFT 2025 admit card on its NIFT admission portal - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT, tentatively in January 2025. NTA NIFT admit card 2025 date is not yet announced by authorities. To download the NIFT 2025 admit card, candidates need to enter their login credentials generated while registration. NIFT admit card contains details such as name of the candidate, application number, exam centre name and address, date of birth, category, course name, exam centre code, reporting time and signature of the candidate. 

How to check the NIFT admit card 2025? 

Candidates can refer to the below steps to download the NIFT hall ticket 2025.

• Go to the official NIFT website - nift.ac.in.

• Locate and click on the 'NIFT Admit Card 2025' link.

• Input the login credentials such as registered email address and date of birth.

• Press the 'Submit' button.

• Candidates can view the NIFT 2025 admit card on the screen.

• Download the NIFT hall ticket 2025 and print it for future reference.

The provisional NIFT answer key 2025 will be released by the NTA probably in February 2025. Candidates can download the NIFT provisional answer Key 2025 from the official website. Candidates can use the answer key to cross-check their responses and estimate their scores before the official NIFT results are announced. Candidates can raise their objection when an objection window opens by the authorities by paying the fee per objection. After the closing of the objection window, the authorities will release the NIFT final answer key 2025. 

The authorities will release the NIFT result 2025 for written exam likely in February, 2025. NIFT 2025 result will be hosted on its official website - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT or nift.ac.in. Candidates who will appear for the exam can view their NIFT results by using their login credentials such as password/date of birth. NIFT results will be presented as a scorecard. 

How to download the NIFT result 2025? 

To access the NIFT 2025 results, candidates should follow these steps:

1. Go to the NIFT official website at nift.ac.in 2025.

2. Select the 'NIFT Final Result 2025' link.

3. Enter application number and password or date of birth.

4. Click the 'Submit' button.

5. The NIFT 2025 result will appear on the screen.

The NIFT Cutoff will be released by the concerned authorities on its official website. The NIFT cutoff is the minimum score required for candidates to qualify for admission into various NIFT programs. It varies each year based on factors like the difficulty of the exam, number of candidates, and available seats. The NIFT cutoff 2025 will be released in the form of opening and closing ranking for various programmes for each category such as open, OBC- NC, SC, ST, PwD, NRI, EWS, Dom Open, Dom UR, Dom SC, SC PwD, and ST PwD. 

NIFT cutoffs are important for candidates which indicates the last rank at which admission is offered. Candidates who fail to achieve  rank equal to or higher than cutoff rank means they will not be able to secure admission in NIFT campus or course. The NIFT cut off list will be available online at NIFT admission portal. 

NIFT Counselling is a crucial step for students who will clear the NIFT entrance exam questions. During the counselling process, candidates are allocated seats in various NIFT campuses based on their ranks and preferences.

• Registration: Candidates must register online for the NIFT counselling process.

• Choice Filling: while registering for NIFT counselling, candidates need to select their preferred courses and NIFT campuses.

• Document Verification: The authorities will verify the documents to confirm NIFT admission eligibility.

• Seat Allotment: Seats will be allotted based on rank, preference, and availability.

• Payment of Fees: After seat allotment, candidates must pay the required fees to confirm their NIFT admission.

NTA conducted the NIFT entrance exam on February 5, 2024. The Master of Fashion Management program had its Stage-I (GAT) as a CBT on February 5. The Stage-II Personal Interview is offline and was conducted from the April 1 to 3. 

The National Institute of Fashion Technology will release the NIFT sample question papers on its official website - nift.ac.in. NIFT provides the previous year sample papers and courses on their official website. Students who are aiming to excel in the NIFT entrance exam need to add NIFT sample papers in their study plan. With the  NIFT 2025 sample papers students can understand the exam structure and type of questions that candidates can expect in the actual exam.
