About NIFT Entrance Exam 2025

NIFT entrance Exam 2025: The National Institute of Fashion Technology 2025 entrance exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency for UG & PG design courses. NIFT 2025 notification has been released by NTA on November 22, 2024. The NIFT registration 2025 will begin from November 22 onwards at the official portal - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/ or nift.ac.in. Candidates need to fill and submit the NIFT application form 2025 before deadline. The NIFT 2025 application form last date is January 6, 2025. Before proceeding to fill the application form, the aspirants are advised to check the NIFT eligibility criteria 2025. NIFT exam date 2025 has been announced as February 9, 2025. 

Candidates who are eligible can apply for the NIFT 2025 entrance exam by paying the application fee as per the category they belong to. Aspirants preparing for the entrance exam should check NIFT syllabus 2025 and exam pattern to understand the structure of the paper. 

NIFT offers various design programmes such as B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, M.F.M and M.F.Tech. Candidates who want to pursue undergraduate programmes need to pass a 10+2 examination from recognised central and state boards. For postgraduate programmes, candidates need to have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a recognised university are eligible to apply for the exam. Latest News and Updates of NIFT exam 2025 

The National Testing Agency has released the NIFT notification 2025 on its official website. The NIFT application form 2025 will be released on November 22, 2024. 

NIFT admit card will be released by the National testing Agency likely in January 2025. The NIFT 2025 admit card will be available on the NIFT admission portal - nift.ac.in. Candidates who completed the NIFT registration form 2025 will be able to download the admit card using the login credentials (application number and password).  NIFT hall ticket is the important document that needs to be carried by the student to the exam center along with any government-approved ID proof.

NIFT result 2025 will be declared by the exam conducting authorities on its official website - nift.ac.in. NIFT results will be released likely in March 2025. To check the NIFT 2025 result, candidates must visit the official website and use the login credentials such as the application number and password. Candidates who qualify for the NIFT CAT and GAT exams must appear for the next exam called as the NIFT situation test. The NIFT situation test will be conducted tentatively in April, 2025. 

After the situation test, the authorities will release the NIFT final result in May 2025 tentatively for all UG and PG courses. Selected Candidates will be able to participate in the NIFT counselling and seat allotment process to obtain admission into the NIFT campuses. NIFT 2025 counselling process involves various steps such as registration, choice filling, locking of choices, seat allotment and payment of fees. The authorities will release the NIFT seat allotment results for each round as per availability of seats.

National Institute of Fashion Technology  is a national level entrance exam conducted annually. NIFT full form stands for National Institute of Fashion Technology. NIFT offers various design programmes such as  Bachelors of Design (B.Des), Bachelors of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech), Masters of Design (M.Des), Masters of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech), and Masters of Fashion Management (M.F.M). Candidates must meet the NIFT entrance exam eligibility requirement before filling the application form. Mentioned below are the detailed information regarding NIFT eligibility criteria 2025 for each programme.

For B.Des & B.F.Tech Programme: 

  • Age Qualification: Candidates should have age less than 24 years as on August 1 of the admission year. Candidates belonging to reserved category (SC/ST/PwD) will have an age relaxation of 5 years. 

  • Academic Qualification:  Candidates must pass the 10+2 from a recognised central or state board/ National Open School with a minimum of five subjects/  Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

For M.Des & M.F.M Programme:

  • Age Qualification: There is no age limit for M.Des & M.F.M Programme.

  • Academic Qualification: Candidates who completed their undergraduate degree in any stream from a recognized institute or university. Candidates who passed their 3 year diploma undergraduate course under NIFT/NID.  

For M.F.Tech programme: 

  • Age Qualification: There is no age limit for M.F.Tech Programme 

  • Academic Qualification: Candidates who completed their B.F.Tech from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) or B.E/B.Tech. from any recognized Institute / University.

The exam pattern of NIFT entrance exam 2024 for the Creative Ability Test namely CAT has not been released by the authorities yet, Candidates are advsied to focus on concept development and design as questions will be designed to test them in these areas. They must be creative and make innovative use of their colour and illustration skills. 

Generally three questions are asked for a total of 30 marks and candidates are tested accordingly.

M.Des

NTA has announced the personal interview dates for M.Des programme on its official website -exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT/. To download the personal interview call letter, candidates can use their login credentials such as application number and date of birth. Qualified candidates can participate in personal interview from April 4 to April 6, 2024. 

NIFT 2024 Situation Test will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates of CAT and GAT for B.Des admissions. This will be held separately for those who have qualified. The situation test is a hands-on test used to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling as well as the innovative ability in a given situation with a given set of materials.

The Exam Pattern of the Situation Test can be summarised as follows:

  • Duration: two hours
  • Test involves: Design of one three dimensional (3D) model.

Note: Candidates will be provided with all the required design materials which should be checked by them upon receipt.

Some guidelines:

  • Candidates will be permitted to bring some items as instructed in the admit card
  • They must make optimum usage of the same. Additional materials will not be provided.
  • Colour pencils and marker pens are not allowed.
  • An Answer Sheet will be provided separately for any writing purposes which has to be signed by the candidates in the exam hall.
  • After completion of the test, the model, answer sheet and any left over materials must be left by the candidates on the table.

Evaluation Criteria for the NIFT Situation Test 2024 are as follows:

  • Originality of the concept applied.
  • Creative use of material and the skills for the same.
  • Neatness of the final model.
  • The write-up describing the model and concepts used.


M.F.Tech

NIFT M.FTech exam pattern gives candidates all the information about the type of questions, duration of exam, language, sections asked and more. This will aid candidates in better preparation for the exam and planning of the exam day.

                            1. Aspiring students must have completed a 10+2 board exam from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi or,

                            Age limit - Candidates must be of 23 years of age as of August 1, 2022. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person With Disability (PHP) get a relaxation of 5 years

                            Eligibility for B.F.Tech admission

                            1. Students must pass the Class 12 exam in the 10+2 pattern of examination with Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi or,

                            2. Any Public School/Board/University Exam in India or in foreign countries which is equivalent to a 10+2 system with Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as a mandatory subjects. It must be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or,

                            3. General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination(London/ Cambridge/ Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/International Baccalaureate (IB) or,

                            4. Diploma of 3 or 4 years in any programme of engineering which is recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education or,

                            5. A passing grade in the Higher Secondary Education Examination held by the National Open School with at least five subjects - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
